I received the following account:
"Dear Mr. Strickler. My sister is a big fan of yours and she suggested I email you.
Last night, on April 8, 2025, my husband was driving on I-95 southbound near Kittery, Maine, at about 9 PM at night in the car by himself. With almost no warning, a huge dark grey shape came swooping toward him, and for a panicked second, he thought he was going to collide with this thing. He said it was at least the size of two eagles and had something like wings but he insisted it was not a bird when I suggested perhaps it was an owl. He said there was an unusual loud whooshing sound that accompanied it. He also insisted this was not any kind of craft. The whole thing happened so fast that he barely had a chance to see it.
When he got home 10 minutes later he was kind of frantic as he was very shaken up. He saw no eyes or facial features.
When my husband saw this large winged creature, I immediately thought of the Mothman. I found a photo of something in Chicago that is being called a Mothman, and he immediately said, “That’s it!”
My husband is open-minded but doesn’t go looking for things, and he believes he encountered something paranormal. I wondered if you have heard any stories similar to this?

NOTE: These winged beings seem to make it a habit of swooping down upon unsuspecting drivers, many times nearly causing a mishap. I believe that this may be the first report of a winged creature or flying humanoid in Maine. Lon
