"I didn't sense anything, but I do remember the distinct feeling of trying to push through something that felt almost like cotton but far more wispy."
I received the following account:
“Something happened to me about 6 years ago, and if I'm correct, I may have shifted realities. That means this is not my native reality. Years ago, I was driving home from the night shift at work. The commute always took two hours, with one hour each way. I was on my way home. The sun was up, and I was very sleepy. I would nod off here and there while I was driving, which normally forced me to pull over every so often to wake up and keep going. I live in Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Well, I was on the final leg of my journey, sitting at the stoplight heading south, when I started to nod off again, but it was interrupted by a strange tingling in my body. My whole body went into full goosebump mode, which stirred me and pushed away any thoughts of sleep. I looked at the light, which was still red, and then I looked to my left to see cars in the westbound lanes slowly making their turn. My light finally turned green. I started to go.
I was in my old Camaro, which gains speed pretty quickly, when I saw, at the last minute, a blue car blow through the westbound lane. This is where things get hazy. My body was now vibrating, but I hit that car. I know I did. I struck it on the passenger side near the front. I could see the car's crunch, and I felt the airbag deploy. As it did, I could feel a bone in my face break. I was terrified, and then I just sort of blacked out. It was a strange moment. I closed my eyes, and my body suddenly stopped. No more goosebumps or anything. I didn't sense anything, but I do remember the distinct feeling of trying to push through something that felt almost like cotton but far more wispy. Then I opened my eyes to see that I was now in the middle of a traffic light passing through. I looked to my left to see that same blue car patiently waiting alongside the other vehicles.
I stopped in a nearby parking lot and checked my car. Nothing, no damage to the car or to me. I drove home feeling shaken. I was totally bewildered. That's my story. I don’t know what to make of it, but I've never shared it with anyone. My family doesn't even know, but if I did change realities, are these people still my family?” M
NOTE: When I hear or read accounts like this, I try to put myself in the experiencer's shoes for a moment. The uncertainty would drive me mad. Do you think that this was a case of alternate reality, a dream, or something else? Lon
