The following account was forwarded to me:
"In late June 2018, Duane and some of his friends had just gotten off work and, since it was Friday, they decided to go camping on Bald Mountain in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park in Northern California.
They got to the spot near a small creek, just off the side of the road, and set up camp. The first thing they did was get a fire going. Around 8:00 PM, while sitting around talking, they heard a knocking sound up the creek. It kept getting more and more aggressive but they put it out of their mind.
Then, sometime between 2:30 and 3:00 AM, while they were in their tents, they heard something walk into the camp. It was grunting. That’s when Duane saw it.
“It came over and I remember seeing the silhouette on the outside of my tent and it was large and it terrified me,” he recalled. “I remember it grabbing at the top of my tent and as I’m looking up, I can see like these vivid yellow eyes and it's so weird because like the facial structure almost reminded me of a human but it was like a lot larger, like bigger than Shaq (referring to 7’1 basketball player Shaquille O'Neal), I would say, you know, because I’m 6’4 (the same height as his tent) and this sucker was bending down and like grabbed the top of my tent.” The creature picked up the tent a few off the ground (with him inside) and dropped it. “I started screaming at this point because I was terrified and, as I was screaming, my friend's dad came out and he shot. He literally shot the gun. It sounded like it went through the tent and then, like, you heard it go boom boom boom boom.”
The creature moved off into the forest. The friends immediately began packing to leave. As they were gathering their things, they heard whooping sounds coming from different places off in the forest. On the way out, a large rock hit the side of the car, denting it. Some of the people returned to the spot the next day and found large footprints.
Duane claims that since then, he heard from others who had strange experiences at that camping spot and he didn’t even think it was being frequented anymore. His grandfather also had an encounter four miles from the location. He described the eyes as “glowing yellow.”
