A monster enthusiast is convinced he's seen Nessie after capturing a peculiar double-humped figure on camera. Eoin O'Faodhagain claims to have observed an object, possibly up to 20ft in length, repeatedly emerging and submerging in Loch Ness while monitoring the loch via webcam.
"I noticed a disturbance in the middle of Loch Ness, to the right of the screen," he recounted. He witnessed a form rise from the water and dip back down four times in the same area, which struck him as highly unusual.
He elaborated: "I thought it could be Nessie, but first wanted to look at other options. I've ruled out a log – I've never seen a log emerging and submerging in the same spot, ever."
"And waves move along, they do not stay in one place. It's far too large for any wildfowl or seals, and I've also ruled out divers or swimmers. The only possibility is Nessie."
The intriguing event was spotted last Sunday through a live stream from a webcam at the Clansman Hotel, operated by Visit Inverness Loch Ness (VILN). This early-year sighting is rare for the fabled Loch Ness Monster, with few recorded sightings last year, the earliest being in April, reports the Mirror.
Mr O'Faodhagain, aged 60, suggested, "It could be the first genuine Nessie Sighting of 2025," noting that January isn't typically a month known for such encounters, perhaps due to the reduced number of boats on the loch.
The brief video clip has sparked excitement among Nessie enthusiasts, capturing what appears to be a pair of black humps bobbing in the water. A dedicated monster hunter suggested these could be the head and body of the elusive creature.
"There was one long hump and a smaller hump to the right of this, which I surmised to be the possible head of the creature," he detailed. "That would mean it's positioned to move against the current."
The behaviour of the mysterious entity, repeatedly surfacing and diving is said to be typical of past Loch Ness sightings, according to Mr, O'Faodhagain.
"This type of behaviour has been documented in other live sightings at Loch Ness over the years, so you could call this a classic sighting," he remarked. He also noted the similarity to his own previous encounter last year, captured on the Clansman webcam, featuring two distinct humps.
Mr O'Faodhagain, from County Donegal, Ireland, frequently checks the Loch Ness webcams for any sign of Nessie, contributing several reports to the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register.
