A woman tells me that she had been grieving for her deceased dog after he got out. She eventually found the dog's body. But later she received a welcomed visit.
I received the following account:
“In December of 2008, I brought home an Alaskan Klee Kai puppy as a welcome home deployment present for myself. His name was Barney and he was the best dog I've ever had. Don't tell my other dogs I said that.
One morning in early 2013, Barney was let out to do his business. During that half-hour, he dug a hole under the fence and got out. A couple of days before he got out, I had just started a new job, so I didn't want to ask them for time off to look for him. He had done this before and always came home.
I came home one day and he was still missing. Behind my house was a horse pasture and woods. I drove around the neighborhood which was next to me and even in the woods. I was worried and scared for him so I said a prayer to Saint Anthony, the Saint that helps you find lost things. I always found what I was looking for when I said a prayer to Saint Anthony and, as crazy as it seemed, the prayer seemed to work because I had no clue what led me to walk back into the woods. I walked straight to where my dog was. I'm not sure how long he was dead but I'm assuming he got out because he saw two stray dogs that morning and wanted to go play with them. I saw them briefly when I came home on a lunch break and they were nearby when I found Barney. I assumed it was one of the dogs who may have killed him.
I'm not sure how many days had passed but I was still grieving, blaming myself for not securing the area that he liked to escape through, blaming myself for not taking time to look for him that morning, etc.
I was in bed one morning and I felt what I thought was my cat jumping on the bed. I reached down to give him a pet but nothing was there. I opened my eyes to see the back of Barney running away around the corner from my living room into the kitchen with a pack of other dogs. I still miss him very much but after that moment I would like to think that he came to say that he was okay and that he was having fun playing with other dogs that have crossed over.” J
