I received the following account:
“In 1999 a friend of mine, who I'll call Dave, told me this. Four little kids came to his door one evening. Two boys and two girls. They were standing side by side, boy girl, boy girl. In unison, they said may we come in. Dave said they were all pale-skinned, with light brown hair, maybe 8 or 9 years old, and wearing old-fashioned farm clothes. Dave lived on a rural farm in Ohio (Springfield and Enon area). He said it was the type of clothes he saw in old photos of his grandparents as kids.
He told them no, closed the door, and they collectively hissed at him. Then, they just vanished! He was scared to death. His dog Riley wouldn't come out of the bedroom for hours and just whined.
I thought it was just a good scary story until somewhere around 2010 I heard Brian Bethel's story about such things. That sent a shiver down my spine. It's what he told me. I believe him too, as he seemed legitimately freaked out by it. I don't if someone is lying or not. He never told stories like that before or since. And he seemed genuinely sincere. So I believe him.” B
