Film actor Thomas Jane recalls an experience that he and his father had while fishing at Prettyboy Reservoir in Baltimore County, Maryland. Was it Bigfoot?
“I've had a couple of experiences and one of them I was about 8 years old (around 1977) and my dad, I used to love to go fishing. We’d wake up at 4:00 in the morning and fish all day at some river or some lake. We were at Prettyboy Reservoir which is in Baltimore County, Maryland.
We were fishing and it had gotten dark or, no, it was just starting to get dark, and across the lake, you know, sort of on the side of the lake but way down, maybe a hundred yards from us, we heard this incredible roaring sound. I don't even know how to describe it but it was loud! It was an animal and it was like nothing anyone had ever heard. There are no bears around in that part of the world, at least no bears that would or that could sound like this.
Then the trees started to break, you know, and literally, like, trees would start cracking and falling over, and then that sound started getting closer to us. Something was trying to scare us away. It was a sound that I'll never forget and my dad who's a Vietnam veteran, 6'3", I saw the color drain out of his face, and I thought, if he's scared we're in trouble, and he grabbed our fishing gear and then grabbed me, like an eight or nine-year-old kid, put me under his arm and we ran out of that place with this incredible half human half/ape, you know, sounding really pissed off angry, breaking trees and marching in our direction. I'll never forget that. We still tell that story around the dinner table sometimes.” Thomas Jane
