An East Village, NYC resident recounts his observation of a tentacled 'sky jellyfish' that he and friends watch from his apartment balcony. What are these beings?
The following account was forwarded to me:
"In September 2017 I was staying at a friend's place in the East Village area of New York City. He had an apartment on the top floor with a little outdoor terrace that had a huge view of the city. One night we were just chilling in the living room and I randomly wanted to go sit outside. I go to the terrace, sit down on the couch, look up at the sky, and directly above me is what looks like a jellyfish pulsing through the sky.
It had a round top and many long tentacles, it was exactly as if a jellyfish from the sea had grown and just flew up into the sky. It seemed like it was really high up and if I didn't see it directly above me I probably wouldn't have noticed it. I didn't take my eyes off it, I yelled for the people inside to come out and the 3 of us watched this thing pulse across the sky for maybe 2 minutes (I can't be sure because I was so mesmerized). It's also hard to be sure of color and size because it was so high up so we didn't have any range of distance or means of comparison. My friend describes it as predator-like, it seemed almost translucent but it also looked dark gray, maybe it could have been the night sky behind it.
It couldn't have been a balloon or something because it moved organically, pulsing and "swimming" along like any normal jellyfish. It moved moderately fast, and traveled in a perfectly straight line, like it knew exactly where it was going. We watched it go across the whole city getting smaller and smaller until we couldn't see it anymore.
I immediately checked Twitter and Instagram which had nothing, the next day I checked again and the news and didn't find anything either. I searched "flying jellyfish/sky jellyfish" on Google and couldn't find anything remotely close to what we saw." J
NOTE: The translucent look, or reference to the 'Predator-like effect,' of aerial phenomena is not unusual. Many of the flying manta ray-shaped entity reports that I have received are described as translucent. Lon
