A reader contacted me about a sighting that she and a boyfriend had in 2012 at the Gulf Islands National Seashore near Gulf Stream, Florida. Was it a black crawler humanoid?
I received the following account after the witness read a recent post:
"Hi. I just read your Pensacola, Florida sea creature story. I want to tell you my story from the same area. It was 2012 when my boyfriend and I started hanging out, it was late at night and we'd gone to a park to chill. I live in Gulf Stream (The Florida Panhandle to be exact) and our town has a bay, so the park had docks for people to string up their boats. We were sitting on one of the floating docks just chatting when I happened to look across the water to the shore.
Something was floating on top of the water. It looked like a styrofoam fishing buoy? I'm not sure what it was, but it was enough to grab my attention. Our conversation lulled (I didn't know at the moment that my boyfriend was also watching) and I watched this thing pull itself up onto the sand in the light of a street lamp.
The closest thing I can describe it as is a person wearing a black morph suit crawling low to the ground on all fours like in a horror movie. Its elbows are out and its legs are at odd angles.
Anyways, it slithered off into the sawgrass, and my boyfriend and I emphatically confirmed that we both saw the same thing. He, skeptic that he is, dragged me over to check for tracks. In the sand. There were handprints with fresh splash marks. I'm not kidding, actual five-fingered handprints. We got into the car pretty fast and got out of there.
We both knew a whole lot about the wildlife in our area, and we still couldn't come up with an answer! I'd love to hear any of your theories." T
NOTE: I wrote to the witness and received the following information:
"Hi, again. I neglected some details. The thing had no snout or tail, which rules out a lot of wildlife. I purposely checked for this at the moment and confirmed it with my boyfriend afterward. After crawling out of the water, this thing went straight into sawgrass which extends for literally miles because it's the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Also, the park was very well-lit and there was a street lamp shining directly onto the shore. This wasn't a trick of the light, I'm absolutely sure of it." T
