A driver is exhausted and barely staying awake. When a coffee cup falls to the floor, the driver takes their eyes off the road. Then a brightly lit 'humanoid' is seen, as the driver was drifting off the road.
I received the following account:
" About 10 years ago I was driving home one night near Plymouth, Massachusetts. I was particularly exhausted and it was very dark out. It was late, maybe 11:00 or 12:00, and I was out on a back road, not really paying attention to the road (as I have traveled it many times before).
I was speeding along, just coming up on the crest of a small hill, and my empty coffee cup fell out of the cup holder and rolled under my legs. As I reach down to get it, I take my eyes off the road to look for it. My hand hits the cup and I bring my head back up. What I saw made me jump out of my skin. It was a humanoid-like figure, with no features to speak of, but it seemed to be made of purely white light. It was extremely bright, but not blinding, and I only saw it out of the corner of my eye. Seeing this caused me to jerk the steering wheel, which was fortunate, as I was drifting off the road. As I sped past, being the curious person I am, I grabbed the rearview mirror and searched for the light. All that I saw behind me was darkness, and soon I passed over the hill.
I wrote this event off as just exhaustion and continued on my way home. However now it appears to me that it may have been a lot more than just exhaustion. I have no explanation for this, except it seems as though it kept me from running off the road. One detail I remember about it though, is even though it had no features, it reminded me of an old man and I had a clear image of him placed in my head. That is why I so easily rationalized this and just thought it was a man walking. If anyone has any explanation as to what a humanoid figure giving off light might be, I am all ears.
Anyways, that is my story of what may have been a strange event or just exhaustion." F
