Two friends walk on a trail at night in central Wisconsin when they encounter a large shadowy being shaped like a Sasquatch. As they left they were 'escorted' out by several coyotes.
"I'm writing in response to Kevin from Florida's “not shadow” he saw at the car wash two decades ago. Alright, when he described how it looked like a black shadow with a “TV-like fuzz effect” and static electricity around the outside, it reminded me of a “not shadow” standing there that my friend Val and I saw.
It was standing on the trail ahead of us as we walked up the hill of a local mound in Central Wisconsin, on a moonlit spring night about 10 years ago (around 2014). We had the bright idea to go for a walk because the night was warm with full moonlight and there were no bugs yet. We were near the top of the mound when we both stopped talking and walking because ahead of us only about 15 feet away, we saw the outline of a huge figure blacker than the dark around us, standing in the trail. Not human proportions but thick and wide. The mass of a Sasquatch. We couldn't see the arms and legs but we could see the head, shoulders, and torso. The lower body was blended with the hillside. I'm guessing 7 feet tall.
What Kevin said about the fuzzy TV effect struck me because as we looked at it, it didn't move but the wind was slightly blowing and it was almost as if the hair on its body had white tips or something because the breeze in the moonlight was making the hair move like little twinkling stars. Once I noticed the moonlight reflecting off the hair, I could see that along the outline of the head and shoulders, there was more reflection. There was almost a bluish electrical glow, very subtle. We could clearly see the trees behind and around it and it seemed to me like we shouldn’t be able to see it too.
I said, ‘Do you see something blocking the trail?’ She said, ‘Yes, we should go!’ I agreed and we both turned and walked slowly back down the hill. It did not follow but as we nervously forced ourselves to walk slowly back down the hill, we saw five or six canines the size of coyotes flanking us about 20 yards out, to our south. I asked her if she saw them and she said, ‘Yes!’ I said, ‘You know what that was?’ She said, ‘Coyotes’. I said, ‘Yeah.’ But the other thing she said, was we would talk about it at the truck.
We got to the truck and we didn't even talk until we were a few miles away. She saw the same thing I did. We were both as freaked out about the coyotes flanking us as we were the Sasquatch. We're country gals not afraid of coyotes but it felt like the coyotes were escorting us out on behalf of the Sasquatch and that weirded us both out. We saw them right away as soon as we had started back down the hill.
Kevin's story (featured in an earlier episode) reminded me of this event. Neither one of us had taken a flashlight but neither one of us would have lit that 'Thing' up anyhow. Neither of us smelled anything but the woods. Neither of us had a feeling about anything out of the ordinary until it was right there. We both saw it at the same time and both had that ‘Gandalf’ ‘You should not pass!’ moment (referring to the Lord of the Rings). We were not welcome so we left." Lori Liddell, Central Wisconsin.
