NEW 'STAR' May Soon Be Visible
A star system 3,000 lightyears away is set to become visible to the naked eye this year, in an event that will see its apparent brightness temporarily increase.
T Coronae Borealis, also known as T CrB, last brightened in 1946, and astronomers have predicted it could brighten again between now and September 2024.
This brightening event is known as a 'nova', which means 'new star' in Latin, so-called because it describes how a previously dim star can suddenly reach prominent naked-eye brightness in the sky. More FREQUENT & DEADLY TORNADOES!
Every year, an average of 1,200 tornadoes are reported in the US. While they can strike any time and any place, the most regular and violent activity strikes the central and southern states in the period roughly between March and June: tornado season.
Yet in the first months of 2024, there has been a strange and devastating uptick in twister occurrences.
April witnessed more than 100 tornadoes in the US in just one week, and, according to the National Centers for Environmental Information, a total of 384 were reported throughout the month. That is more than double the year-on-year average and the second-highest on record. Read more at Something very strange is happening to tornadoes across the US. and scientists are baffled

Unexplained 'SCRATCH MARKS'
The discovery of a series of unusual "scratch marks" on a forest pathway has sparked any number of weird and wild theories online.
Caelyn, from Leeds in the U.K., turned to Reddit for answers after coming across a series of unusual markings while walking in Hetchell Wood Nature Reserve near the West Yorkshire village of Bardsey.
"At first I thought they were animal marks in the dirt," Caelyn told Newsweek. "But when I realized it was stone I didn't think it would be. I know bears and big cats do it on trees, maybe even stone, but if there's a wild bear in England we've got bigger problems."
Though Caelyn may joke and there's little hard evidence to suggest it, there have been several alleged sightings of exotic animals across the Yorkshire region over the past few years. In 2019, the Wakefield Express ran a story about an amateur photographer who claimed to have captured a picture of what many suspect was a large wild cat at St. Aidan's Nature Reserve near Leeds.
