“This is 100% true story. There's a place near Yucipa CA called Wildwood Canyon... lots of curves etc. I was behind a car going too slow so I passed and saw there was no one in the car. The wheel was turning/driving by itself. I was in shock. This was 1986. It was an old boxy styled car. Anyway, a couple months or so later my friend was in the car with me when it happens again. My friend stuck her head out window and looked inside the car and nobody was in the car. Driverless Truck in Convoy
I'm hesitant to post this, but when I was 15 riding down US-131 with my Dad driving, we saw a National Guard convoy with one driverless truck in it. There were five identical trucks and the one in middle had NO driver. The other four all had two or three Guardsmen in their cabs, but the middle one was empty. Traffic was light, so we drove in the passing lane for a while trying to look at it from every available angle. We did this several times and each time the whole convoy would speed up and slow down relative to our car. This middle truck was identical to the others except that it had tinted windows. My Dad figured it was some sort of experimental RC device they were testing and I myself am inclined to agree, as I've never come up with a better explanation. The Cars Had No Drivers
“I was 5 or 6 years old when I used to sit in our front yard and watch cars go by on what was the major thoroughfare of Park Forest, IL, in the 60s - Western Avenue. One day I noticed with horror that NONE of the cars had drivers! I stared and stared but could see no one driving the usual number of afternoon cars. I got so excited I ran into to tell my mother. Head on a Stick
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — It sounds like a Halloween prank but Sacramento police say it was all too real.
Authorities say a homeless woman led them to a decomposed body after she was seen walking down the street with a human skull on a stick.
Police tell KTXL-TV that the woman was spotted Wednesday on Connie Drive.

Sgt. Bryce Heinlein says the woman told them she had found the skull and led them to an abandoned homeless camp a couple blocks away That's where officers found the rest of a decomposing body.

Roman Coins Found at Ancient Japanese Dig
The eyes of a visiting archaeologist lit up when he was shown the 10 tiny, rusty discs that had sat unnoticed in storage for two and a half years at a dig on a southern Japan island.
He had been to archaeological sites in Italy and Egypt, and recognized the "little round things" as old coins, including a few likely dating to the Roman Empire.
"I was so excited I almost forgot what I was there for, and the coins were all we talked about," said Toshio Tsukamoto of the Gangoji Institute for Research of Cultural Property in Nara, an ancient Japanese capital near Kyoto.
The discovery, announced last month, is baffling. How did the coins, some dating to the third or fourth century, wind up half a world away in a medieval Japanese castle on the island of Okinawa? Experts suspect they may have arrived centuries later via China or Southeast Asia, not as currency but as decoration or treasure.
The 10 copper coins were unearthed in December 2013 at the 12th-15th century Katsuren Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, during an annual excavation for study and tourism promotion by the board of education in Uruma, a city in central Okinawa.
