Bob Gimlin Regrets 'Patty' Film Release
One of the two men who filmed the infamous Bluff Creek Bigfoot video has long regretted his involvement.
Filmed in 1967 in Northern California, the Patterson-Gimlin film has long remained the most hotly debated and tantalising piece of footage ever recorded in relation to the Bigfoot phenomenon.
The video, which offers a clear view of a large bipedal ape-like creature walking along the creek bed, soon became world-famous and attracted the attention of Bigfoot enthusiasts and critics alike.
Patterson himself sadly passed away back in 1972 which means that Bob Gimlin, who sold his share of the rights to the film to another researcher for the measly sum of $10, is now the only person left alive who knows what really happened that day.
The level of harassment and abuse he has since received over the footage however has left him wishing that he had never agreed to take part in the original expedition in the first place.
"It ruined me," he said. "They’d come driving in my driveway all times of the night and go ‘Bob! We want to go out Bigfoot hunting.' My wife was a teller at a savings and loan institution. Of course, she was sitting right there and the public would come in and make smart remark."
"This went on and on and on until she come home crying. She’d say, ‘I’m not tough enough.’ A couple times we were going to split up over this."
Despite these problems however Gimlin still maintains that he knows what he saw that day.

Abduction 'Dream'
Fenton, MO - 1977-04-14: We noticed the sparkling shining copper crown like circle hovering in sky while playing in backyard with brother and friends. We followed it to the street discussing colorful gem like lights. That night I had horribly traumatic abduction "dream" waking next morning.
The dream felt much more than a dream. Strange unrecognizable beings came after all of my family yet my mom, dad and two older brothers were separated from me while they ran out the house seeking refuge via glass doorway of next door neighbor's basement. Followed them the best I could locating where they fled. But moment I reached backyard next door basement doors to rejoin my family, I unable to open basement door plus my family sat at the door staring out towards me hypnotized immovable wouldn't unlock basement door to let me in. I pleaded loudly please let me in. They refused. I struggled to avoid the beings but they grabbed me. Returning home, they landed on front yard in early morning bringing me. My parents ran out of house to meet us begging they return me home like they had agreed the day before. My parents (in this dream) said the beings promised they wouldn't do anything to hurt me. Beings discussed various things with my parents assuring them nothing bad would happen. My parents said please don't come to bother us anymore. I woke up next morning around 10 am, sleeping very late, which was very unusual, running to my brother and parents relating what happened. Fisherman Reels in Bomb
(CBS4) – A man who reeled in a bomb while he was fishing on the Fourth of July says he feels lucky he’s still alive to tell the story of what happened.
The man, who asked that his name not be used, was fishing from the dock at Barr Lake State Park in the morning. He had been out for several hours with no bites, and when he felt the line hook something big his first reaction was excitement.
“I thought it was a big fish because I had already (been there) like 3 or 4 hours without catching nothing,” he said.
As he reeled the line in he quickly realized there was no fish. Instead, his line had snagged some sort of white and black pipe, and on the end of it was what looked like a fuse.
“I was trying to pull it out and that’s when I saw the bomb,” he said.
“I threw my fishing pole very carefully away like 5 feet from me.”
The man flagged down the first park ranger he could find. Soon afterwards, the Adams County Bomb Squad was able to move the device into a nearby sand pit and safely detonate it.
The fisherman says it was a catch he’ll never forget, but one he hopes to never see again.
“I say ‘That was close,’ you know, because I picked it up with my hand and put it away. And then after that when I saw it explode I thought ‘Wow, that’s something dangerous.”
It’s unclear where the pipe bomb came from or who left it there. Investigators say sometimes explosives are used to shock fish in an effort to collect them easily. It’s illegal to do that.
The man says the situation hasn’t scared him away from doing more fishing at the lake. In fact, he was back out on the dock the next morning with his rod.

“I seen lights one time when I was seven years old. It looked like a... I kinda looked like a broom with a sheet over it but it was moving and it was all lit up and then it looked like it had dimensions inside of it. It was spinning so fast that it actually looked like it was standing still. And I've seen things all my life. Strange things. Things that can't be explained like one time I seen a giant rabbit. We had a rabbit in front of the water utilities facilities and that rabbit I seen was that big too. And I seen, I heard a UFO above my house when I lived in Hobbs and it came down real low and I was the only one at the house and my wife came and got me and took me to her father in law's house. I mean her dad's house. My father in law. We was out standing in the front yard and I was looking way down the road and I seen this man come running right around the corner and he was running right down the middle of the road, right in the center of the highway and he kept running and running. I was talking to her father, my father in law and he said that... we were just standing there talking and all of a sudden I watched this... I looked up, I heard it, heard all the dogs barking, at the end of the fence, they chased this thing down the fence-line. It looked like it had a big round helmet. It looked like it had a suit on. Like a black suit.”
