Daily 2 Cents: Missing Time Accounts -- Most Bizarre Suicide -- Abduction at Work

Missing Time Accounts

Tony in Indiana called in to tell of the time his step-brother experienced missing time:

“I have a step-brother. It was about 1987. He was driving. It was about 20 to 25 minutes home from work and well he drives home and by the time he got home, his wife was just about ready to call the police. It was almost three hours later. Well, two days later, in the newspaper, there was a story about how people around town had seen this thing in the sky and it was a classic cigar shaped UFO and they actually had a hand-drawn sketch in the newspaper and he said, he told us later, that he would have never even told anybody except for the fact that it had followed him down this country road because he said he took this back-road home and it followed him out in the cornfield, above the cornfield, for about a mile and half. And to this day, he swears that he drove straight home. He has no recollection but I will say that within a short period of time after this incident, he started having health issues and he's run into a few health problems today and all kinds of stuff. I mean he's talked about. It's so weird because I know I drove straight home. He has no doubt that he drove straight from work to his house. Like I said, that's just something. He's a little older than me and that's just something that... There's no way that happened. There's no way that happened. Whether it did or not, I don't know. And he said he would never have even mentioned it to anybody had someone not drawn that picture and they hadn't put it in the newspaper a couple of days later.”

Also...this account:

Clyde Lewis, host of Ground Zero Radio, decided to tell his own story of missing time that he and his wife experienced in Oregon. (Interesting that Beef Bend Road is now closed indefinitely because of a sinkhole problem):

“I remember telling a story a long time ago about my finance and I were driving down this country road. It's on the way to McMinnville (Oregon) actually, it's called Beef Bend Road and we got, actually, taken away somewhere and we saw train tracks and if you know anything about Beef Bend Road that area, it sort of a pass area, the hills take you down to a valley. There are no train tracks near Beef Bend Road in Oregon all the way to McMinnville and we swear we lost time. We don't remember being abducted. We don't remember seeing a flash of light. We don't remember any of that. All we know is that we just kind of blinked and we wound up near some train tracks and we were lost.”

Abduction at Work

Phoenix, AZ - 3/2003

FILLED OUT AT MUFON HQ. WITH WITNESS ON THE PHONE, BY FIELD INVESTIGATOR L. FLECHTNER ON JUNE 7, 2016
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I WAS AT WORKING THE GRAVEYARD SHIFT AT THE LANDFILL, AS A SECURITY GUARD. I HAD JUST STARTED MY SHIFT AND WAS SITTING IN MY TRUCK ON A HILL IT WAS ABOUT 9:PM.
I MUST HAVE FALLEN ASLEEP IN MY TRUCK, NEXT THING I REMEMBER IS WAKING UP WITH ALIENS GUIDING ME DOWN A LONG HALLWAY WITH WINDOWS IN IT. I COULD LOOK OUT AND SEE A CLOSE UP VIEW OF THE MOON. I WAS NO LONGER ON EARTH.
I REMEMBER THE ALIENS WERE TALLER THAN ME, I'M 6'1". THEY WERE HUMAN LIKE, WEARING SOME KIND OF UNIFORM. THE HEADS WERE BALD AND LARGER THAN NORMAL WITH WHITE SKIN. THEY ALMOST APPEARED TO HAVE A TRANSLUCENT APPEARANCE.
THEY SHOWED ME TO A HAMMOCK LIKE BED TO LIE DOWN, AND NEXT TO IT WAS A HAMMOCK WITH ANOTHER PERSON IN IT, I COULDN'T SEE WHO IT WAS. THERE WAS A LARGE PODIUM. THE ROOM WAS FILLED WITH A PINKISH/ORANGE LIGHT. THEY TALKED TO ME TELEPATHICALLY AND SAID I HAD NOTHING TO FEAR FROM THEM AND TO PASS THAT ALONG. THEN THEY SAID GO NOW SOMEONE IS WAITING FOR YOU. THEN I FOUND MYSELF IN MY TRUCK AND TWO HOURS HAD PASSED. I THINK THEY JUST WANTED TO SHOW ME THE MOON.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I ALSO SAW THE PHOENIX WHEN THEY WENT OVER ME. THEY WERE QUIET. ABOUT I/4TH MILE WIDE AND A MILE LONG. THE LIGHTS WERE DIM AND IT WAS SILENT.
THE LIGHTS WERE TRAVELING NORTH TO SOUTH. - MUFON CMS

Most Bizarre Suicide

At the 1994 annual awards dinner given by the American Association for Forensic Science, AAFS President Don Harper Mills astounded his audience in San Diego with the legal complications of a bizarre death. Here is the story.

"On 23 March 1994, the medical examiner viewed the body of Ronald Opus and concluded that he died from a shotgun wound of the head. The decedent had jumped from the top of a ten-story building intending to commit suicide (he left a note indicating his despondency). As he fell past the ninth floor, his life was interrupted by a shotgun blast through a window, which killed him instantly. Neither the shooter nor the decedent was aware that a safety net had been erected at the eighth floor level to protect some window washers and that Opus would not have been able to complete his suicide anyway because of this." "Ordinarily," Dr. Mills continued, "a person who sets out to commit suicide ultimately succeeds, even though the mechanism might not be what he intended. That Opus was shot on the way to certain death nine stories below probably would not have changed his mode of death from suicide to homicide. But the fact that his suicidal intent would not have been successful caused the medical examiner to feel that he had homicide on his hands. "The room on the ninth floor whence the shotgun blast emanated was occupied by an elderly man and his wife. They were arguing and he was threatening her with the shotgun. He was so upset that, when he pulled the trigger, he completely missed his wife and the pellets went through the a window striking Opus. - cmgm.stanford.edu/~lkozar/suicide.html

"When one intends to kill subject A but kills subject B in the attempt, one is guilty of the murder of subject B. When confronted with this charge, the old man and his wife were both adamant that neither knew that the shotgun was loaded. The old man said it was his long-standing habit to threaten his wife with the unloaded shotgun. He had no intention to murder her - therefore, the killing of Opus appeared to be an accident. That is, the gun had been accidentally loaded.

"The continuing investigation turned up a witness who saw the old couple's son loading the shotgun approximately six weeks prior to the fatal incident. It transpired that the old lady had cut off her son's financial support and the son, knowing the propensity of his father to use the shotgun threateningly, loaded the gun with the expectation that his father would shoot his mother. The case now becomes one of murder on the part of the son for the death of Ronald Opus.

There was an exquisite twist. "Further investigation revealed that the son [Ronald Opus] had become increasingly despondent over the failure of his attempt to engineer his mother's murder. This led him to jump off the ten-story building on March 23, only to be killed by a shotgun blast through a ninth story window.

"The medical examiner closed the case as a suicide."

Alligator Discovered With Human Body in Mouth

LAKELAND, Fla. - Authorities have captured an alligator in the lake where a gator was spotted with a body in its mouth, but it's not clear if the one that was trapped was involved.

Lakeland police spokesman Gary Gross says officers responded to Lake Hunter on Tuesday afternoon following a report of an alligator with a body in its mouth.

Officers were able to retrieve the body, and Gross says a trapper was called to capture the 8-foot reptile. Gross says the body appears to be an adult male, but police weren't sure.

It wasn't known if the alligator killed the person or simply found the dead body. Gross says a medical examiner will have to determine the cause of death.

The victim has not been identified.

Police said on Wednesday that it's unknown if the 9 foot gator that was captured Tuesday night was involved.

Last week, two fishermen discovered alligators eating a dead man in a South Florida canal. - Alligator trapped after being found with body in mouth, cops say
