Daily 2 Cents: Irving's Visits -- U.S. Military Space Base Planned -- San Andreas Fault...Southern California's Time Bomb

Irving's Visits

Betty from Austin, TX called in to tell of her son's ghostly friend:

“I'm in Austin but the resident ghost was living with me on Long Island. My son was about 3 or so. And he wanted... we had a pull down attic door. And he wanted, the jeep I had hidden for him for Christmas, up there. I said how did you know what's up there? He said, Well, Irving takes me up there. I said, Who's Irving? He said, He visits me at night. And I said, How do you get up in the attic, does he pull the door down? He said, No, we float up through the ceiling. In the days to come, Irving had taken him to where Irving lives. He said it was a box of bones in the ground. So in the days to come we had the occasion to walk through the community cemetery during the memorial day parade. So as we're walking through the cemetery, he pulls at me and says, Mommy, Mommy, there's where Irving lives. And I go over to where he showed me and there was the name Irving Riggs. It said it right there on the gravestone. So I worked for 30 some years at a hospital. (Art Bell asks her about Irving and her son) I asked him, were you afraid? He said, no, Irving talks to me. He said he was afraid at first. Well, I worked for years with a girl whose name... whose last name was Riggs so I asked her, Do you have any ancestors by the name of Irving? She said, Yes, my great grandfather. So I told her the story. So quite a few years to come, she said her aunt had died. She went over to help to clear the attic out and a picture fell out of a box she was carrying down the stairs from the attic and she asked her other aunt, Who is this? The other aunt says, That's your great grandfather Irving. So she gave me the picture. So now my son's in his teens and he hasn't seen Irving. So when I came home from work I put the picture by the phone. My son comes running in from work or something and he grabs the phone to call his girlfriend and he stops short. He hangs the phone up and he says, Mom, where'd you get that picture? Who's that picture of? I said, I don't know, who does it look like? He said, Remember that guy who used to come visit me at night? Irving was a real person...a real ghost. We put a face to Irving.”

U.S. Military Space Base Planned

The latest venture for the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA), the agency that provides the Department of Defense with their big guns, is an ambitious one: building a modern Star Trek -style ‘Starship Enterprise’ in outer space. DARPA’s new Hallmark program is the first step toward building a U.S. military base of operations in a galaxy far, far away.

The first goal isn’t building the ship itself, but rather developing the technology to survive in the extremely inhospitable environment that is deep space. Earth’s operational space domain is violent and dangerous, with an immeasurable amount of objects and space garbage spinning around at thousands of miles per hour. “The scales and speeds in this extreme environment are difficult enough to grasp conceptually, let alone operationally, as is required for commanders overseeing the nation’s increasingly critical space assets,” DARPA explains.

Current space situational awareness technologies are outdated, as they were created when space wasn't so crowded with objects like satellites, both new and old. This is why DARPA plans to simulate their enterprise software at a testbed in Northern Virginia first. Brad Tousley, director of DARPA’s Tactical Technology Office, which oversees Hallmark, said he envisions a system that incorporates an intuitive user interface with 3-D visualizations.

In a 40-page proposal outlining the purpose of the $16 million dollar program, DARPA clearly asserts their intentions to gain an intergalactic strategic advantage. “Space is increasingly important as a domain of strategic interest; however, nations and geo-political entities are developing the ability to exploit potential vulnerabilities and threaten U.S. freedom of action in space.”

The threat of an impending satellite war is most likely the driving force behind the demand for space innovation. Fears of space warfare and weaponization were sparked in 2007 when China blew up a satellite while testing a new space weapon. In 2008, a Chinese satellite flew within 28 miles of the International Space Station without warning. A new report by the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission claims the fly-by years back was a simulated anti-satellite attack. According to an annual Chinese Military and Security Developments report from the Department of Defense,“China is pursuing a broad and robust array of counterspace capabilities.” However, China isn’t the only country developing weapons to use outside of Earth’s stratosphere. The U.S. and Russia are veteran players in the space race, both developing anti-satellite defense weapons which could raise diplomatic conflicts back on Earth. Russia and the U.S. have both previously tested anti-satellite weapons, one example being when the U.S. blew up a Chinese weather satellite during a test in mid-1980.

Destroying orbiting satellites is a possible strategy to interfere with research, development and intelligence efforts. Keeping space arms-free is a huge priority, but that is subject to change as Russia, China and the U.S. compete and heavily invest in space tech and exploration.

“When called upon, the U.S. military must have superior capabilities to rapidly plan, assess, and execute space operations in support of the full spectrum of military actions. Because the space domain enables and supports military operations in the land, sea, and air domains, space operations must also be integrated with existing and future military and intelligence operations in those domains,” DARPA’s proposal concludes. - DARPA Plans To Build A U.S. Military Space Base To Stave Off Intergalactic Threats

San Andreas Fault...Southern California's Time Bomb

If you reside on the west coast, you are living on borrowed time. As you will see below, stress has been building up along the San Andreas fault for more than a century, and scientists tell us that southern California is way overdue for a major earthquake. When that stress is finally released, the U.S. Geological Survey says that we could be looking at hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. If you follow my work regularly, then you already know that there has been unusual shaking all along the “Ring of Fire” so far in 2016. But thankfully the west coast of the United States has been spared from a major disaster up to this point. Unfortunately, scientists assure us that it is only a matter of time before one strikes, and that is why it is so alarming that the ground surrounding the San Andreas fault has been “rising and sinking.” The following comes from the Los Angeles Times…

For the first time, scientists have produced a computer image showing huge sections of California rising and sinking around the San Andreas fault.

The vertical movement is the result of seismic strain that will be ultimately released in a large earthquake.

Russia Wants To Develop A Teleportation Device In The Next 20 Years

The multi-trillion dollar endeavor could see teleportation become a reality within only two decades.

It might have been a staple for Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise, but today the idea of building a device that can instantaneously teleport someone from one place to another remains as firmly rooted in the realms of science fiction as it had when Star Trek was first broadcast.

This however could soon be set to change thanks to an ambitious new Kremlin-backed research program which aims to build a working teleportation device by the year 2035.

"It sounds fantastical today, but there have been successful experiments at Stanford at the molecular level," said technology investor Alexander Galitsky.

"Much of the tech we have today was drawn from science fiction films 20 years ago."

The plans are part of a long-term road map for development of the Russian cybernetics market which also includes the creation of a state-of-the-art human-computer brain interface.

Given that no actual mechanism for achieving teleportation even exists yet however it seems as though the project may simply be a little bit too ambitious for its own good. Read more at Russia Wants To Develop A Teleportation Device In The Next 20 Years
