Daily 2 Cents: Conspiracy Theorists Question Scalia's Death -- The Head in the Woods -- Rise and Fall of Argentina’s Real-Life X-Files Unit
Conspiracy Theorists Question Scalia's Death
With confirmation that Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead Saturday morning with a pillow over his head and his clothes unwrinkled, nationally syndicated talk-radio host Michael Savage called for an investigation on the level of the presidentially appointed probe into President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in 1963.
“Was [Scalia] murdered?” Savage asked his listeners.
“We need a Warren Commission-like federal investigation,” he said. “This is serious business.”
Savage said an immediate autopsy of the body is needed.
“There was no medical examiner present. There was no one who declared the death who was there. It was done by telephone from a U.S. Marshal appointed by Obama himself,” he said.
In an essay posted on his website, Savage asked what would happen if Donald Trump were in the White House in his final year and the justice was Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
“Do you think the left would be screaming that Donald Trump would have no right to appoint anyone to the Supreme Court? Do you think they would be demanding an autopsy and a full federal investigation?”
In an interview Monday with GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, Savage discussed the implications of Scalia's death.
"We had a razor-thin savior of the conservative, or, shall I say traditional, ways in America, Antonin Scalia, who was found dead under suspicious circumstances," he said. "And now this character in the White House who nobody with a rational mind should trust is trying to railroad Loretta Lynch down our throats ... as his number one choice. Can you believe this?"

Savage said somebody must stop Obama's nomination to the Supreme Court so the choice can be made by the new president.
"And I hope it's you," Savage told Trump.
Savage noted Scalia's role in the Supreme Court's Feb. 9 decision that temporarily blocks Obama administration rules to limit greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.
"Donald, you know that just five, six days before Scalia was found dead with a pillow over his face, he was the lead voice against Obama's attempts to railroad that green gangsterism down our throats, he knocked it out? He was the one who did it."
The 79-year-old Scalia had been on a hunting trip at the Cibolo Creek Ranch in Presidio County, Texas.
Presidio County Judge Cinderela Guevara, who pronounced Scalia dead, said the death certificate will say the cause of death was natural and that he suffered a heart attack.
She said she decided not to order an autopsy after Sheriff Danny Dominguez concluded there were no signs of foul play, reported WFAA News in Dallas. The Scalia family concurred.

“As part of my investigation, one of the things I did ask the sheriff and the U.S. Marshal: ‘Were there any signs of foul play?’ And they said, 'Absolutely not.' At that time, I still wanted to be careful, and asked them if [Scalia's] physician would call me,” Guevara said.
Guevara said she talked to Scalia's doctor in Washington, D.C., who told her Scalia had been sick and had visited his office Wednesday and Thursday before going on the hunting trip Friday.
According to Guevara, Scalia told his group Friday at dinner he was not feeling well and went to his room early. He then missed breakfast and lunch Saturday and was found unresponsive in his bed.
The owner of the Texas ranch and resort said Scalia died peacefully.
“The judge, when I found him Saturday morning, was in complete repose,” John Poindexter, the owner of Cibolo Creek Ranch in Marfa, Texas, told NBC News. “He was very peaceful in his — in the bed. He had obviously passed away with no difficulty at all in the middle of the night.”
Scalia, who was appointed to the high court by former President Ronald Reagan, was the longest-serving justice on the court, having taken his seat on Sept. 26, 1986. - Was Scalia Murdered?

'...it fell from the sky'
January 26, 3 in the afternoon.
The time of the day when all farm workers rest in the shade of the trees or in the quietness of open verandahs.
Bethaveppampattu village at the foot of the Yelagiri Hills near Vaniyambadi in Tamil Nadu was in a way asleep when an ear splitting noise woke the villagers. The villagers ran out to see smoke as high as a palm tree emerge from the paddy field.
"The sound was so loud that we had no clue what was happening," says Velu, a farmer who lives opposite the paddy field. "Smoke was everywhere and even the hill was invisible for sometime."
"All of us got so scared. We called the police immediately. Only after the police, the local MLA and the fire engine came that we had the courage to go near the spot," he adds. "In no time, our village was full of people from the neighbouring areas to see what was happening. They also heard the sound."
"This is the first time something like this happened in our village," says Marimuthu, among the first to reach the site.
Once the smoke settled, the villagers discovered a crater in the field. "The police collected some stones and the top soil for investigation. There is a cow shed close to the field, but luckily only one goat was tied there and the sound alarmed it so much that it ran breaking the rope," adds Marimuthu. Read more at

The Head in the Woods
Jane Doe was embalmed, decapitated, and given red rubber balls for eyes. Was the woman found in rural Pennsylvania murdered, missing, or something else entirely?
ECONOMY, Pennsylvania — The head looked up at the boy with eyes made of red rubber balls.
The face was frozen in a fixed glare thanks to embalming and the chill of death. The neck had been roughly sawed; inside, the tissue was severed with surgical precision. The hair was snow white with curls. The resting place was a field where horses and adventurous children roam.
The body was gone.
On Dec. 12, 2014, a boy named Charles got off his school bus and began walking down Mason Road, a barely two-lane strip of asphalt that leads to only a few homes.
By chance or fate the boy wandered from the road and into the field of overgrown brush. At first he thought it was an animal, dead or dying in the winter cold. But it turned out to be Jane Doe’s head, and it is how most people in Economy refer to what was once a human being.
“That’s where they found it,” a woman in a nearby home said, pointing to the field off Mason Road.
“Down there on the left?”
“Yeah, I think so,” she said.
Two days after Charles made his discovery, cadaver dogs and police were pulled from the field. That’s when the real work began.
Embalming and artificial eyes would seem to indicate the woman at least made it to a funeral home following her death. However, there’s no way to determine whether a professional or some sick amateur performed that macabre task. After consulting with area cemeteries, police have mostly ruled out the possibility that Jane Doe was taken from a grave or funeral home. Read more at The Head With No Body—and No Answers

The Rise and Fall of Argentina’s Real-Life X-Files Unit
LIMA, Peru — Even at the best of times, Argentina’s former president Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner was controversial.
Accused of populism, corruption, mismanaging the economy and un-statesmanlike mood swings, she also, apparently, had an interest in extraterrestrial life.
In fact, in May 2011, she launched a new agency within Argentina’s air force specifically to research reports of UFOs on national territory.
Called the Commission for the Study of Aero-spatial Phenomena, or CEFAE in Spanish, it included both military and civilian experts, and aimed to get to the bottom of a spate of sightings across the South American nation.
Amid great fanfare, Brigadier Ernesto Omar Paris, of the Argentine Air Force, said at the time: “This commission will carry out a scientific study of aero-spatial phenomena. With this achievement, we have reached an important goal for our institution.”
Now that Fernandez de Kirchner’s leftist administration has made way for new president Mauricio Macri’s center right government, many of her pet projects are being wound down, and some are even being investigated to see how they spent the public funds they were assigned.
That includes CEFAE, whose track record of following through on its stated purpose appears underwhelming, to say the least.
According to its final — and only — report, which has just been published, the agency investigated just 10 reports of UFOs during its nearly five years of activity.
And if that sounds unimpressive, then its conclusions are even more so.
The meager 12-page report found that nine of the 10 UFO sightings reported were in fact a soccer ball, a helicopter, a bird, the red lights on top of an antenna, the planet Jupiter, the moon, a star, an airplane and, in one case, a combination of a satellite, a Russian part of NASA’s International Space Station and a star. In the 10th case, the report noted: “Unfortunately, it has not been resolved due to the witness not providing any photo or video to accompany their report.”
Nevertheless, the study conjectures that based on the witness’s account, what they had seen was someone shining a red laser onto a wall.
The report also notes drily: “Although the totality of the cases analyzed here have turned out to be compatible with causes of a known origin, they nevertheless constitute very valuable testimony from the point of UFO research, especially in corroborating the existence of an overwhelming percentage of IFOs (Identified Flying Objects) that turn out to be from honest but erroneous interpretations, in which ordinary objects have been confused with extraordinary ones.” - The rise and fall of Argentina’s real-life X-Files unit
