Leonard Nimoy: In Search Of...Bigfoot

Leonard Nimoy will always be known as the iconic 'Spock' from the 'Star Trek' franchise...but his narrations for the 'In Search Of...' television series will be my greatest memory of him. The presentation was broadcast weekly from 1977 to 1982, describing various mysterious phenomena. The purpose of the show was to suggest some possible explanations, but not necessarily the only ones.

'In Search Of...Bigfoot' with Leonard Nimoy (who took over for Rod Serling, after his death) was a documentary about the search for the legendary homind, rumored to inhabit the forests of the U.S. Pacific Northwest. The show featured Rene Dahinden, John Green, Robert W. Morgan & Sam Melville. Of course, we now know that Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti, etc. is a global phenomenon.

This episode was first presented (April 1977) a year after I graduated from high school. I had already been investigating haunted locations in south-central Pennsylvania, but this documentary opened my eyes to our mysterious and anomalous world. Then in 1981, I had my encounter in Sykesville, Maryland...and my world changed forever. I was hooked. I needed to find the truth about Bigfoot and other cryptids.

NOTE: The 21-DVD set includes all 144 installments hosted by Leonard Nimoy. Also included are two Rod Serling specials In Search of Ancient Astronauts and In Search of Ancient Mysteries which aired prior to the start of the regular Nimoy series.
