Toymaker Mattel creates new doll Lorna McNessie
Lorna McNessie is a character in the Monster High series of dolls
The toymaker behind Barbie has created a new doll inspired by the Loch Ness Monster myth.
Lorna McNessie is one of the latest additions to Mattel’s Monster High, a range of characters that also includes zombies, ghosts and werewolves.
She is described as the daughter of the Loch Ness Monster and is from Rotland – Monster High’s version of Scotland.
Loch Ness Bid, an organisation that promotes the loch and surrounding area, has welcomed the doll’s creation.
Graeme Ambrose, of Loch Ness Bid, said: “The introduction of the character Lorna McNessie is a testament to the continued interest and drawing power of the Loch Ness Monster.
“The monster is shrouded in mystery and perhaps slightly scary in a nice way for children and it is therefore of little surprise that Mattel have chosen to introduce this character, daughter of the Loch Ness Monster.”
Mr Ambrose added: “I am sure that it will have many children begging their parents to take them to Loch Ness which can only be of benefit to the area.”
As well as the doll, Mattel has had an animation made of the tartan-clad Lorna McNessie.
The short film shows her having to leave Rotland for Monster High to avoid publicity caused by her appearance out of the loch. - Toymaker Mattel creates new doll Lorna McNessie

Lost Sherlock Holmes story discovered in man's attic
A previously unknown short story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle has been found hidden away in a man's attic.
The 1,300-word tale was part of a book of short stories that had been put together for a local event to help raise enough money to build a new bridge in the Scottish town of Selkirk after the old one was destroyed in a flood in 1902.
Conan Doyle, who was particularly fond of the town and its surrounding area, penned the Sherlock Holmes story as a contribution to the fund raising efforts.
80-year-old Walter Elliot, who had received the book around 50 years ago, only recently succeeded in finding it again while searching through some of the items stored in his attic.
"I have no idea how many they made and sold," he said. "I've had this book for about 40 or 50 years. I must have got it from a friend because I can't remember buying it from anyone."
"I have no idea if it has ever been published. I've always been interested in history and my family has always passed on stories and I suppose this was one of the stories that was passed down." Read more at Lost Sherlock Holmes story discovered in man's attic

God is a Female
A Catholic priest from Massachussetts was officially dead for more than 48 minutes before medics were able to miraculously re-start his heart has revealed a shocking revelation that will change everything you once believed.
The 71-year-old cleric Father John Micheal O’neal claims he went to heaven and met God, which he describes as a warm and comforting motherly figure.
Father John Micheal O’neal was rushed to the hospital on January 29 after a major heart attack, but was declared clinically dead soon after his arrival.
With the aid of a high-tech machine called LUCAS 2, that kept the blood flowing to his brain, doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital managed to unblock vital arteries and return his heart to a normal rhythm.
The doctors were afraid he would have suffered some brain damage from the incident, but he woke up less than 48 minutes later and seems to have perfectly recovered.
The elderly man claims that he has clear and vivid memories of what happened to him while he was dead. He describes a strange out-of-body experience, experiencing an intense feeling of unconditional love and acceptance, as well as being surrounded by an overwhelming light.
He claims that at that point in his experience, he went to heaven and encountered God, which he describes as a feminine, mother-like “Being of Light”.
“Her presence was both overwhelming and comforting” states the Catholic priest. “She had a soft and soothing voice and her presence was as reassuring as a mother’s embrace. The fact that God is a Holy Mother instead of a Holy Father doesn’t disturb me, she is everything I hoped she would be and even more!
The declarations of the cleric caused quite a stir in the catholic clergy of the archdiocese over the last few days, causing the Archbishop to summon a press conference to try and calm the rumors.
Despite the disapproval of his superiors, Father O’neal says that he will continue dedicating his life to God and spread the word of the “Holy Mother”.
“I wish to continue preaching” says the elderly cleric. “I would like to share my new knowledge of the Mother, the Son and the Holy Ghost with all catholics and even all Christians. God is great and almighty despite being a woman…”
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston has not confirmed however, if they will allow Father O’neal to resume his preaching in his former parish in South Boston. - StarrFM Online

Reader Reports Blue Lights
Hey Lon,
I received your email today containing this particular sighting of a blue light above Houston Airport and I had to email and share with you the same occurrence that happened to me over the course of 2 years on the other side of the country here in NJ. let me share with you what I encountered.
My girlfriend had just recently purchased a home in Union, NJ which is right next to the Garden State Parkway as well as Newark Liberty Airport. In June of 2010, I left her house and made my way back to my own home, I stopped at a traffic light that would allow me access to the parkway about 1 in the morning.
As I waited for the light to turn, I looked up gazing at the sky, I suddenly saw what I can only describe as a "blue light" suddenly appear and streak through the sky flying relatively low heading south along the same direction as the Garden State Parkway does. The entire incident was only a few seconds due to the speed that the light or craft was travelling.
I scratched my head and went online the next day trying to rule out if this was an aircraft, shooting star, meteor, or anything that would logically make sense, but I could not.
Then about a year later in October of 2011, I witnessed it again. This was also the night after the state of NJ was hit by Hurricane Sandy, and I was on my way to working the graveyard shift.
It was around 10:30 pm and the area was still reeling from the effects of the previous nights storm. Everything was a mess and most of the area was without power. As I made my way to the same traffic light that would allow me access to the Garden State Parkway, I again looked up and saw the same blue light suddenly appear and streak across the sky relatively low and again heading south.
The best way I could describe the speed would be to a special effect from a sci-fi movie where the spacecraft would suddenly go into some sort of hyper drive. from fast to BANG! gone.. This is the best way I can describe how fast this object was travelling.
At this time I was now convinced that this was nothing from this world, since at this point, all air traffic above the tri-state was still suspended due the Sandy, so it had to be not from this earth.
I remember years ago listening to Art Bell and recalled that he said that allot of strange phenomena happens in the sky but no one ever notices since rarely do folks look up. Well after that, I always made it a point to look up and scan the sky when the situation allowed and now twice I saw something that I could only explain as a possible UFO.
Thanks again,
Anthony Sergio
