Daily 2 Cents: Brit Wishes to Birth Martian Baby -- Another Bigfoot Reported in Scotland -- Woman Pushed by Ghost (Video)
Woman bids to be first woman to give birth to Martian
Maggie Lieu, 24, has applied to applied to be part of the first human colony on the red planet through the £3.9billion Mars One Project.
It aims to create a permanent settlement for our race on Mars and will start by sending 40 people in 2024 after 10 years of extensive training.
She has been shortlisted to make the 140million one-way journey to Mars and she believes she could be the first woman to give birth on Mars.
Miss Lieu said: "It would be incredible to be the Adam and Eve of another planet.
"Because it is a colonisation programme, it's inevitable that eventually someone will procreate and it would be incredible to be the first mother on Mars." Read more at Express

Woman 'pushed by a ghost' in Chile
A South American woman says she’s scared to leave the house - after claiming she was pushed over by a GHOST.
Cecilia Carrasco, 34, had been walking past the reception desk at her lawyer's office in the capital Santiago when she felt herself be shoved.
Bizarre CCTV footage appears to show her walking unawares past a counter, only to fall dramatically to the ground out of nowhere.
Cecilia, from Chile, said: 'I wasn't aware of anybody in front of me as I passed the reception desk talking to a girl, and as I looked towards the receptionist I suddenly felt two pairs of hands shove me over. I hit the floor but when I looked up I couldn't see anybody, and I thought they probably had run off.
I hit the ground hard and had to be taken to hospital in an ambulance. I was inside for three days and I'm still off work as a result of my injuries.
'When the receptionist told me that there was nobody there, I didn't believe them until they showed me the footage. Now I am convinced that it was a ghost because I felt the hands even though there was nobody around.'
She said she had never believed in ghosts and never expected that she would be at the centre of such a paranormal attack, that meant she was now frightened about going out of the house.
Cecilia added: 'I remember seeing a film where a ghosts kept attacking a woman and now I'm worried the ghost might be after me. I have no idea why I was shoved over.'
The CCTV footage which was shown on a local TV report quickly became one of the most viewed items in her homeland.
Hospital staff confirmed the woman had head injuries conducive with her having fallen over or been pushed over.
Local parapsychologist Rodolfo Orozco said: 'It certainly seems as if something supernatural happened here but in order to investigate it more, we would really need to look at the energy levels in the building, and so far we have not been invited to investigate by the owners.'
Doctors however are sceptical that it was ghosts saying that the woman had received a substantial blow to the head, and that could have caused confusion about the circumstances of her injury.
They were unable however to explain the video which appears to show her being shoved with some force backwards. Check out the video at Yahoo

Another Bigfoot Sighting Reported in Scotland
Bigfoot investigators have revealed a Fife man has broken a 10-year silence and reported seeing the mythical beast just off the Tay Road Bridge in 2005.
The sighting was brought to light just a week after The Courier told how a former Angus woman claimed to have seen a Bigfoot near a disused quarry during a morning walk with her gran’s dog as a child.
Charmaine Fraser, 41, who is originally from Monikie and now lives in Edinburgh, said she saw the 7ft black beast with no neck and broad shoulders in Carmyllie in the early 1980s.
The mum-of-one has since joined the British Bigfoot Research team where a sighting on the Fife side of the Tay Road Bridge has now been brought forward by a former civil servant from Fife.
The man, who has asked not to be named, said the encounter happened in August 2005 around 3.40am at the Five Roads Roundabout on the A92 when he was driving home from work.
He said: “After navigating the Five Roads roundabout, I was proceeding home on the A92 when my headlights picked out what I thought was a man standing by the left-hand side of the road.
“As I approached the figure stepped out in front of my car and I naturally brought it to a halt to avoid hitting the individual.
“This ‘person’ was a large hairy ape-like creature which turned to look at the car as I approached.
“Its eyes gave out a shine which was very noticeable and it crossed the road in about three large strides.”
The man said he felt uneasy but brought the car to a stop and put the window down.
“I could hear something like crunching as something was clearly moving through the forest but I had no torch with me to shine towards the sounds,” he added.
“There was an unpleasant odour in the air and suddenly I got a feeling I was being watched as everything went very quiet.
“I then continued home. Thinking back this individual was well over seven feet tall and a dark brown colour.
“Its hair was of reasonable length. I have never seen this again anywhere in Scotland and only confided in my partner.
“I know unequivocally what I saw and it is still clear in my mind as if it happened yesterday.”
“I worked as a civil servant for many years and experienced some crazy stuff — but I must admit that this was a big surprise.”
Most scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather than a living animal, because of the lack of physical evidence and the large numbers of creatures that would be necessary to maintain a breeding population. - The Courier

Over the Past 5 Months More Than 100 US Children Have Become Mysteriously Paralyzed
Researchers have a leading suspect in mind for what may have caused the paralysis of more than 100 children in the United States since August 2014—but definitive evidence eludes them.
In a study published Jan. 28 in the medical journal The Lancet, researchers described evidence linking the paralysis to enterovirus D68 (EV-D68). EV-D68 had already been a suspect because in a previous study, the virus was found in nasal swabs from 8 out of 41 paralysis patients tested, according to Nature. The new study focused on a group of children who experienced this paralysis in Denver, Col. In this smaller group, the link appeared strong. Nature reported: “Nasal swabs from 8 of the 11 children affected contained enteroviruses, with 5 of them containing EV-D68. … However, the strongest proof that the virus underlies the paralysis would be if it were found in affected people’s cerebrospinal fluid.”
It has not, however, been found in the cerebrospinal fluid.
Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) was first discovered in 1962 in California. It is linked to the common cold, with symptoms such as runny nose, coughing, fever, and muscle ache. It primarily affects the respiratory system. But only time will tell if it could also cause paralysis. Few of the children studied have recovered from the paralysis, though it is possible.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) explain: “Small numbers of EV-D68 have been reported regularly to CDC since 1987. However, during 2014 the number of people reported with confirmed EV-D68 infection was much greater than that reported in previous years. We can’t predict whether EV-D68 will be a common type of enterovirus detected in future seasons.”
There is no specific treatment for EV-D68 infections and no vaccine. Many hospitals and doctors’ offices can test for enteroviruses, but only some are able to test for the specific enterovirus EV-D68.
More than 1,000 cases of EV-D68 were reported in the United States as of Oct. 2014. People are more likely to become infected in the summer and fall, and children or others with weaker immune systems are most susceptible. Cases in which the virus was accompanied by paralysis or muscle weakness were also found in Canada, but have not been reported in other countries.
The Lancet reported that hospitals and Canada and the United States have responded by reporting cases of neurological symptoms in children that appeared after respiratory illness. The Lancet continued: “These cases are being treated with physical therapy but the long-term prognosis is uncertain because most children have not shown relevant improvements so far.”
The virus can be spread through contact with respiratory secretions—when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or touches a surface that is then touched by others. The preventative measures CDC recommends include frequent hand-washing; avoiding close contact, such as hugging, with ill people; avoiding touching your eyes, mouth, and nose. - The Epoch Times
