'Sky Sounds' Stir Saskatoon

The infamous 'sky sounds' are a worldwide phenomena...but Canada and the upper midwest of the US seem to be getting the brunt of the activity.

Eerie sounds have been occurring in the Saskatoon, SK recently. According to the Huffington Post, it resembles the sound of the mothership in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, or the snarl of a long-dead dinosaur crawling back out of the Earth's crust, or simply the wailing of the coming apocalypse.

Whatever it was - even if completely benign - the thundering sounds over Saskatoon recently were alarming enough, and loud enough, to stir Ernie Werezak awake and compel him to grab his camera and start recording.

According to Werezak, who posted the footage on YouTube, he was jolted out of bed by the sounds, which he says seem to be 'in the air,' around 5 a.m. last Saturday.

YouTube user GTIkitty commented on the video and confirmed also hearing the sounds.

"My spouse and I also were awoken to this strange noise," said GTIkitty.

"Was kicking myself for not recording this, so glad someone else was able to get this.

"It happened the first time at 0430 and then again shortly after 0500 early Saturday morning."

This is only the latest in a series of videos that have hit the web since early 2012 that capture strange but similar sounds around Saskatchewan. Read more at Strange Sounds In Saskatoon: More Unexplained Noises Caught On VIDEO

Back in August 2013, CFTK-TV Terrace, BC posted this:

Was it an elabourate prank? Was it the sound of aliens? Was it the second coming?

Those were some of the suggestions heard today, as many Terrace residents awoke to a rather unearthly sound, which was heard in many parts of the city at around 7:30 this morning.

The sound lasted for roughly 10 minutes — and was recorded by many people.

Similar sounds have been reported all over the world in recent years — including Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Various explainations have been offered as to what might be causing the sounds.

A physics professor at the University of Saskatchewan theorized that it’s likely electromagnetic noise emitted from auroras and radiation belts. - Strange Sounds

The electromagnetic theory sounds plausible...the earth has been experiencing some magnetic field movement and radiation bursts from the sun over recent years. I'm just hoping that is all it is...Lon
