Daily 2 Cents: King Arthur...Scottish Warlord -- Food Fight in Supermarket -- Poltergeist in Restaurant?
Fabled King Arthur ‘was a Scottish warlord’
Author Adam Ardrey claims that instead of the romantic English king of legend who lived at Camelot – which is often said to be Tintagel in Cornwall or in Wales – Arthur was actually Arthur Mac Aedan, the sixth-century son of an ancient King of Scotland, whose Camelot was a marsh in Argyll.
He also suggests that Arthur pulled the sword Excalibur from a stone at Dunadd near Kilmartin, died near Falkirk and was buried on the Hebridean island of Iona, which he declares to be Avalon.
Ardrey, an amateur historian who works as an advocate in Edinburgh and previously wrote a book claiming Merlin the wizard was actually a politician who lived in the Partick area of Glasgow, spent years investigating his theories and says that they can be proved “beyond reasonable doubt”. The assertions in his book Finding Arthur: The True Origins of the Once and Future King are strengthened by the discovery in 2011 of what some experts believe is King Arthur’s round table in the grounds of Stirling Castle.
Ardrey says he not only believes Arthur is buried in Iona but would love to see the site excavated to look for proof.
“The legendary Arthur is said to be buried in an island in the western seas – Avalon – but in the south of Britain there are no islands in the western seas,” he says.
“Iona fits all the criteria. It’s an island where hundreds of kings were buried. Some say 128. Other members of Arthur Mac Aedan’s family were buried there too. I say Arthur was also buried there.” Read more at Scotsman
Finding Arthur: The True Origins of the Once and Future King - I'm definitely taking a look at this title...the Arthur legend is fascinating. Lon

Food Fight in Wisconsin Supermarket
Madison Police Dept.
Incident Report for Case #2013-356962
Disturbance
Incident Date 11/12/2013 - 5:30 PM
Address 725 S. Gammon Rd. (Woodman's Food Market)
Details No one yelled: "FOOD FIGHT!" But, such an exclamation would have been apropos after two groups of women went at it last week near the meat counter at Woodman's Food Market, 725 S. Gammon Rd.
A 62-year old man was on the phone with 911, trying to call the melee in, when someone chucked a full container of yogurt at his head. It just missed, and he ended up with dairy product on his ball cap as the strawberry yogurt splattered on doors to the butcher area, and onto the floor.
During the fracas, one combatant armed herself with a frozen turkey. That was swung and tossed. A palate holding eight large boxes of bacon was toppled. That happened after two women began exchanging punches. Both ended up rolling around on the same floor with the yogurt and bacon.
The fisticuffs were precipitated by one woman pulling out a canister of pepper spray. That ended up being shot into the eyes of two women. They were engaged in the faceoff with the four others.
Police stopped those who were pepper sprayed as they were about to drive away. One was cited for disorderly conduct. The other food fighters were not immediately located.
The turkey-swinging, bacon-tipping, yogurt-throwing feud evidently revolves around an ongoing dispute over money.
Hopefully it can be resolved before any of those involved gather around a turkey again, which could be as soon as next week.

Glowing Lake in Puerto Rico Mysteriously Goes Dark
A lake in Puerto Rico that usually glows green has suddenly gone dark and nobody seems to know why.
The enigmatic lake is a popular tourist attraction with visitors arriving early in the morning to go out on a boat and see its spectacular bioluminscence while its still dark. The greenish glow is thought to be produced when microscopic organisms in the water are disturbed.
Recently however the popular greenish tinge has started to fade away and now tour operators are finding themselves in a position where they are having to reimburse visitors because there is simply nothing left for them to see.
Officials have been conducting an investigation in an effort to get to the bottom of the mystery but have yet to find an answer. "We have been compiling data," said Carmen Guerrero, secretary of the Department of Natural Resources. "There are a lot of factors that could be at play. It's important to give these experts room so they can do their job and help us understand what happened in the lagoon and why it has temporarily lost some of its brightness." Poltergeist...or Staged?
It might be a trick, but it’s certainly a Hallowe’en treat for readers who love a ghostly mystery.
They’ve been off our screens for a good few years now, but maybe it’s time paranormal investigators Mulder and Scully returned... to investigate a Luton X-File.
It could be a spook-tacular prank, but staff at Jimmy’s World Grill & Bar in the town centre – and their head office – assure me they’ve been left scratching their heads by unexplained activity at their restaurant.
CCTV footage they’ve sent me suggests that a poltergeist is on the loose. About 50 seconds into the clip, a chair appears to move on its own. Then a napkin flies up in the air, a menu shifts a bit, and cutlery and a plate fly off the left edge of the table.
Manager Rehan Anwar said: “The incident was brought to my attention by a customer who was sitting a few tables away and heard a loud crash.
“When she turned around there was no body sat at the table which baffled her. I instantly went over to the table where the incident had taken place to find a broken plate and cutlery on the floor. I didn’t think too much of it at the time but when talking to the staff about it a couple of days later they joked about it being a ghost.
“Then someone suggested looking at the CCTV on the closest camera to see if that table was covered. It was.
“I couldn’t believe what I saw. At first all I saw was the plate fly off the table but looking back again you can see the chair move and the napkin. There is no explanation for how a plate can fly off a table with that force which makes it extremely bizarre.
Rehan added: “The suspected ghost or poltergeist has created a lot of interest amongst the staff and it makes locking up at night a little bit scary.
“You do hear other noises in certain areas of the restaurant but whether it’s haunted or not, I don’t know but I can’t think of an explanation to what is clearly visible on the camera. It will certainly make Hallowe’en an interesting night for us.”
Mukesh Vyas, from Jimmy’s head office, said: “When we heard about the footage, we thought it was a set up and staff having a bit of fun. However, we have been assured this wasn’t the case and on further inspection of the footage we cannot explain how this has happened.”
So maybe Mulder and Scully can return in an X-files 3 movie focused on Jimmy’s? – although I think I’d prefer a conclusion to the alien colonisation plot (come on, make it happen Chris Carter!)
Failing that it’s over to Luton Paranormal Society... - Luton Today
NOTE: Here's the video link - Click for video. This looks staged to me...each 'effect' could have been acheived by using monofiliment line. The woman sitting alone and away from others is also a possible indication of deception. When she steps away from the table she is looking down, possibily to avoid stepping on a fishing line or a string later used to move the plate...Lon
