Sutton Farm Encounter: Daughter Tells Father's Story
Almost 56 years ago to the day, Elmer “Lucky” Sutton and a group of family members and friends were witness to — something. They told authorities that they had seen unidentified flying objects land in a field near their house and four-foot-tall alien beings leaving the craft, even seen peeking in their windows.
An hours-long battle ensued between aliens and terrestrials, and Sutton and his company even shot at the beings with shotguns at almost point-blank range, but no evidence of the beings was seen. Police confirmed that night that the people making the claim had not been drinking.
What happened that night — Aug. 21, 1955 — that caused several sober people to drive to Hopkinsville seeking police officials to help them battle with beings from another world?
Sutton’s daughter, Geraldine Sutton Stith, published a book in 2007 called Alien Legacy that details what her father told her about that fateful night. She plans to update the story in a soon-to-be-published follow-up novel.
Stith will be the guest of honor at the inaugural Little Green Men Days, a festival in Kelly on Aug. 20 that celebrates the landing. Although the aliens were said to be wearing silver, the “green” matches well with “Kelly,” as well as the clichéd color of aliens.
Stith was not even born when her father and friends did battle with the aliens, and it was a story she was not fond of hearing as a child.
“Back then, I didn’t really think about it, because this story always scared me,” she said. “I was real little when I found out about it. They kept it hidden from us for so long. All of the older kids in the family knew about it, but none of us younger kids did.
“For years, I would go through the house at nighttime and close all the windows and the shades and the doors because I was afraid something would look in at us.”
In 2005, the town held a 50-year anniversary event, and that was when Stith took notice of the number of people who loved the story. She began to research the 1955 event and found a lot of fallacies.
“I knew, because I heard it from him (her father),” she said. “When it comes to this story, I have to take what he said into consideration because he was there; he went through it. So, I decided, ‘Well, why not write a book?’ and get the facts straight and help people understand what they went through. They went through so much because of this.
“Now, several years later since I’ve written this, I have heard just so much more that I can add, and I am hoping that, in the near future, I can revise the book.”
More information about the book can be found at the Web site www.alienlegacy1955.com.
Stith said that Kelly should have had a festival based on the UFO sightings long ago, similar to what Roswell, N.M., did following its sightings.
“This is something that will help this community and get them things that they need here,” she said. “I was just thrilled when I heard they were going to start doing this. I think it’s a great idea. You have your chupacabra, you have your Mothman, you have all these other things out here that these other communities are making money from and helping their community with. I hope people will embrace this idea and understand that this is all good fun, just taking what Kelly has got and using it to help the community.”
More information about the inaugural Little Green Men Days at Kelly can be found at the Web site www.kellygreenmen.com.
Stith will tell her father’s story at the festival at 11:30 a.m., following the opening ceremonies and preceding the performance of the musical group Black Cat Cadillac. She will also be selling her book “at a really low price.”
“I’m going to tell it differently than I usually do,” she said. “When I do speaker sessions, I usually tell it seriously, but I’m going to make this more like a bedtime story. I know there’s going to be kids there, and I’m going to make it a little more lively and a little more fun.”
But make no mistake: the story is not a bedtime fairy tale, at least not to the Suttons and their friends who were there that night. What did happen that fateful night more than a half-century ago? Was Christian County the landing site for beings from another world? The truth is out there. - The Eagle Post

Gargoyle on top of pub is scaring residents
A gargoyle atop a pub in Sydney, Australia, is scaring local residents and causing them to avoid the area. The 1920s-style design feature sits on the roof above the main entrance to 456 The Avenue, a new pub on Sydney's north shore.
But the stone creature has caused ruffles among local shoppers and workers on the busy strip in Chatswood, an area popular with those of Asian descent. Locals have been walking around the pub's entrance - so as not to walk directly underneath the gargoyle - or simply avoiding the area.
Amy Chan, 38, who works in community service and is of Chinese descent, walks past the gargoyle almost every day. "I don't actually avoid walking past it, because it's a short cut to walk to the station from my office in Help St, but I tend to not to look at it," she said.
"I don't think the Chinese culture has anything against the gargoyle. To me, I just find it quite scary and intimidating to look at, especially when its getting dark. I remembered one of my colleagues looked up and saw the monster, she was scared and said 'This is not a normal place to have lunch'."

Naked Man Claiming to Be a Descendent of Sasquatch Attacks Hunter
A naked man claiming that he came from a long family line of Sasquatches attacked a hunter in rural Washington County, Oregon on Thursday.
Jeff McDonald is not an avid hunter, according to his daughter, and after what he experienced on Thursday it’s unlikely that he will be out in the forest any time soon. The 58-year old McDonald was in the woods behind his house when the naked 20-year old son of his neighbor attacked him with a rock while making Sasquatch references.
McDonald reportedly spotted a naked man near his all-terrain vehicle on Thursday morning, Sgt. Bob Ray, a sheriff’s office spokesman, told The Oregonian. The naked man attacked, hitting the hunter repeatedly in the head with an apple-sized rock, according to local news outlet KATU, causing broken fingers, a dislocated shoulder and an eye injury, before McDonald managed to eventually fight off his attacker.
McDonald then held the man at bay with his hunting rifle and was able to call for help. Unfortunately, it took a long time coming. County deputies and state police troopers were reportedly stymied by the dense forest, and were forced to use air horns to try to find the victim, a process that took some 90 minutes during which McDonald was forced to hold a rifle on his naked attacker.
McDonald will recover from his injuries, according to his daughter. As for the attacker, he was identified as 20-year-old Linus Norgren of Banks, Oregon, and is McDonald’s neighbor. Investigators believe Norgren was under the influence of something, but what exactly remains to be determined. Norgren was arrested and faces charges of assault, strangulation and menacing. His bail is set at $250,000 and he has a court appearance scheduled for today.
No word on his actual relationship to Sasquatch. - Time

Children see Hairy Man in Napakiak
In the July 31st, 2013 issue of the Delta Discovery, we published a story about a Hairy Man sighting that took place in April of this year in the village of Napakiak. The story this week is about the same Hairy Man, but from the perspective of two children who witnessed the creature.
It was late April 2013, and two brothers age 16 and 12 were outside in their village of Napakiak. They could see the bluff on the other side of Napakiak Slough and it was there that they saw the creature.
It was very large, approximately 9 feet in height and black colored, said the 16 year old.
“It was taller than a human and very black, just standing in the open,” he said.
The older boy waved his arms at it to get its attention. He said he even tried whistling at it but the creature just stood there looking at them.
The younger boy told his brother that he was scared so the older brother reassured him not to be scared.
“This is the first time I experienced seeing Bigfoot,” said the 12 year old.
There was still some snow on the ground on this late April day, and there were children playing and sledding down the bluff. Some of the kids then saw the creature and started running for home, crying in terror. The children later described the animal saying, “Its hair was dark brown.”
The 16 year old boy said that he heard about the other children who had run home crying.
The animal eventually ambled away over the hill in a northwesterly direction until it disappeared from view, as reported in the previous article.
The person that provided the picture of the footprints went a day or two later and photographed the footprints of the being. Even though the tracks were distorted after a couple days by the hot sun in springtime, it was clear that the footprints were too large for humans. - Delta Discovery
