UFO Encounters: Lights in the Valley -- Taking Notes -- Flaming Craft -- On the Road

The following narratives were forwarded to me several years ago:

LIGHTS IN THE VALLEY

In 1982, I was 12 years old. One evening that winter, near the holidays, my mother woke me up from a deep sleep at 2am. She was freaking out, and wanted me to verify that she wasn't crazy.

Our home in Vermont is located high on the East side of the Winooski River Valley. From my bedroom window, there is a beautiful 20 mile view across the valley towards Camel's Hump. About 8 miles away down in that river valley there is a hydro-power dam. At the time it was under construction and there was a large crane at the site. During the holidays they hung a array of lights on the crane tower to look like a Christmas tree. We could see that from our house.

So, what had my mother so scared? There was a light hovering over the dam, and it was changing colors. Red, blue, green, white, red again. It was moving back and forth ever so slowly, and occasionally would "bounce" up and down. I was an aircraft freak even at that age and mom wanted to know if I knew what it was. I didn't. From our vantage point, it was impossible to tell if it was something moving on the mountain side beyond the river or if it was between us and the far side of the valley, but it sure looked like it was moving over the lights on the crane.

My mother called the BTV airport and asked them if anyone else was calling in about this mysterious light in the valley. Of course, they pretty much thought she was a crazy lady and said that nothing was amiss. They did, however, give her the number to our nearest military installation, Plattsburgh Air Base (closed in 1992). So, at my behest, she called them and told the same story. You guessed it - same result. "You're crazy lady!".

It was a crystal clear night, so we returned to the window to watch this object some more. Within five minutes something unexpected happened.

From the opposite side of the valley several aircraft popped up over the ridge in formation and headed down the valley. We could see their collision lights with the familiar red, green and white strobes. I figured military, of course, but wondered about the response time. Plattsburgh is at least 50 miles away by air, so it is possible they could cover that distance under full military power if they had been on the ready line when we called...or, had they already been on the way?

The jets got to within two miles or so of the mysterious object when it suddenly brightened, turned white, and went straight up. Fast. It disappeared into the night sky effortlessly. We continued to watch for several more minutes as the jets did a few orbits, then returned the way they came. With that, we called it a night.

Others in my high school saw the event or heard the jets, but we never saw anything in the news. I'll probably never know, but it definitely helped form the opinions I have today about our visitors from other worlds. GM

TAKING NOTES

I have been abducted by aliens. The last time I remember clearly was in 1979.

I was abducted with a large group of people on one occasion. It seemed they were studying human social interaction. The reason I say this is because I recognized an old boyfriend. He was married by then and the aliens suggested I go over and talk to him. I said I wouldn't because he was now married. They seemed very confused. If I still had strong feelings for him, why wouldn't I do this? His wife died since then (now ten years) and we have talked on the phone and send e-mails to each other, almost 25 years after we broke up.

Back in 1976, I met a family who said an alien lived in their house but was invisible. To prove it, the husband said he would ask the alien to put on a show for us that night. We all saw 5 craft fly over and one hovered over the cornfield after it got dark. They even flashed their lights when we waved. I know it sounds crazy, but I am at a point in my life where I know what I saw and don't care if anyone believes me or not. This family also told me that the government came to their home once a month to pickup notes the family kept. This all took place in Lansing, Michigan.

FLAMING CRAFT

In 1994, something happened to me that would change my life. I witnessed a UFO for the first time.

At that time, I had been working as a special security officer. I was in my car on my way back home from work late one night. I was in the south of Sweden.

After I had driven a few miles, something suddenly started to glow on my left side. It was about 150 meters long 40-50 meters wide (it was huge!) and just looked like it was on fire. It looked like it was going down over a ridge, but change direction twice. Then it looked like it was going down again, so I tried to follow it with my car. But when I came around the ridge, I had to stop because there were 2 horses standing in the middle of the road....it seemed like they were hypnotized.

After banging the horn for about 2 min, I got out of the car and could not move them. I pulled and push each one but they still stood there looking at me. I looked toward the glowing object but it was gone by that time.

I turned my car around and went home.

I know what I saw...I'm not crazy. Through the flames was a metallic body. I will never forget that. I even called the Swedish Air Force and asked them if something went down that night, but they stated nothing was reported.

I know that what I saw was NOT from this earth. Name Withheld

ON THE ROAD

I had a trip every Tuesday night that started at midnight. The truck was a small and loaded with lots of sausage product, but carried a big payload (about the size of a standard pickup truck but a lot wider). I’d leave here around midnight and if making good time I’d stop at a truck stop for breakfast, unload my truck and then “back track” on my way back to deliver to any stores that was “short” on product.

That night was a very clear and warm night. I had the radio on but don’t recall the station. It was probably at least around 3:00 a.m. or later. Nothing remarkable but at some time the radio was acting strange. Would seem to have lots of static; then nothing; then clear as a bell. That probably happened for about 5 minutes or so and as I was looking around I noticed something out the right side window.

As I said, it was not something you could clearly see, but it was like a saucer with lights on the outside. I don’t want to dramatize this but I think the fact that the object didn’t streak across the sky brought its attention to me. It sort of hovered along side of me but some distance away. When you see a plane at night you see the port and starboard lights (one on the tail, one on bottom and one on top-normally red, and strobes on the wing tips). Back then I don’t know that there was any where near that kind of marking on aircraft so white lights would not have been a concern.

All I knew was that it did not look like a traditional plane nor did it act like a traditional aircraft. It was like a cigar (saucer) shaped based on the lights. Nothing on top or bottom to define height. It seemed to spin but not fast but that may just have been the motion because the movement of the lights was not fast. Hard to explain. I don’t recall that it made any noise, just seemed to hover while along side and then disappeared.

Obviously, I had to concentrate on the road so I don’t know what direction it went but it was quick. The lights just went off and it was gone. Since I didn’t stare at it, I can’t tell you how long between glances. At the time I figured we had some experimental stuff that we weren’t supposed to know about (and that may still be the truth) but it was strange. Not at all scary, but not something one expects to see. Bill M.

Strange thing walked out of woods,I followed it and it just vanished.

I was sitting in my driveway looking up at the stars and I heard something come out of the woods at the end of my street. There is a creek at the end of my street so I was wondering how they came out of there.

This thing started walking up my street and it was walking very weird and was wearing black robes and a weird hat with a point and a curve and had feathers on it.

So I hid behind my car waiting until it walked near my house. Note: it was walking the same pace the whole time. And I said "hey what are you doing" and they didn't say anything back and kept on walking at the same pace up the street.

So I started following them and at the other end of my street are more woods. I was right behind this thing! The thing got to someones yard and I was 5 feet behind it and started walking into the woods.

I turned the flashlight on my phone real fast; within 2 seconds. I didn't stop walking when I was turning it on.

When I looked up with my flashlight, i! t was gone... It just vanished into thin air. Nothing! I looked all over with my flashlight, there was nothing. I just don't know. I want and explanation and I want it soon.

I do not want to live in fear know what I saw. I just remember every dog barking at it and it did not even flinch.

Just someone explain this. NUFORC

11-Year-Old’s Psychic Feeling Helps Save Her Family From Fire

She had a feeling she could not shake. Maria Elias’s premonition probably saved her and other family members. Before she went to sleep on Saturday night, 11-year-old Maria felt as if something was going to happen.

Around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, a fire spread through the Elias’s California residence. Maria acted fast and corralled her two younger brothers and sister our of their home. It appears the fire started because of an electrical short. Corey Wilford of the Kern County Fire Department stated, that ”a person who was sleeping in the home heard a loud pop and smelled smoke, then saw fire erupt on the wall.” The fire caused an estimated $85,000 in damage.

The United States Fire Administration recommends that residents take precautions in order to practice fire safety. Here are some tips to consider: 1) all homes should have at least one working fire alarm; 2) never overload circuits; 3) do not overuse appliances. If you detect a smell or smoke, disconnect the appliance from the outlet; 4) plan your escape route in case there is a fire; and 5) educate your children about the dangers of matches and lighters.

Was it a feeling that saved Maria Elias and her family? No one will ever know the answer to this question. What we do know is an 11-year-old acted in a quick and smart manner in order to save her brothers and sisters from the fire. - Parent Society

Strange Sounds in British Columbia

Some people in Terrace, B.C., say they were awoken Thursday morning by some strange, whining and grinding noises echoing off nearby hills for several minutes, prompting a wide range of speculation online about the source.

At least three different people recorded the phenomenon, including Kimberley Wookey, who posted a video on YouTube.

Terrace, B.C.Terrace, B.C.
Mandi Campbell described hearing the loud sounds rolling through the hills around the city

"It seemed to be coming from the sky or underground, something so loud though. And I believe it was heard in Hazelton, which is close to here, and as far as the Nass," said Campbell.

Initial speculation about the source of the sounds included last year's earthquake that struck northwestern B.C., or perhaps the 7.0 magnitude quake that struck off the Aleutian Islands on Friday morning.

But Honn Kao of the Geological Survey of Canada said the noise is not related to any seismic activity in the region.

Other popular theories included electromagnetic activity or a just a train, but residents insisted the noises aren't from the nearby train tracks.

Reports of strange sounds all around the world lit up the internet in 2011 as well, when they were dubbed "sky trumpets" by some.

On Friday afternoon city spokesperson Alisa Thompson said she had a simpler explanation — it was a city worker grinding down the blade on a grader.

"The grader blade needed to be straightened. Kind of gets ground down, and it makes a very strange noise. It's as simple as that," said Thompson.

"The video, the YouTube video, is actually right around the corner from the arena, and that's where our employee was doing the straightening."

Thompson said the city will try to replicate the sound and prove it was the grader this afternoon, although she admits she likes the more creative explanations better.

"Like some kind of epic battle between a Kermode, and UFO, with sasquatch and maybe a whale thrown in there. That would be great for local tourism." - CBC

Security guard in Turkey photographs UFO

A security guard at a “technopark” in the town of Gebze in the Kocaeli province of Turkey says he saw a flying saucer and was able to capture it on camera with his cell phone before it disappeared.

The security guard, Ahmet Özcan, says he heard dogs barking and went outside. He told Haber Turk (translated by Google), “I went out to the sound of 0500 ranks of the dog’s bark. I saw an object resembling a flying saucer. Photographed on a cell phone. I lift my head to take the second one was gone.”

Haber Turk says a representative from the Sirius UFO Space Sciences Research Center in Turkey says they have taken an interest in the photograph and intend to research it further.

Taunt Reptilians At Your Own Risk

The following narrative is a submission by Matt R.:

On 8/24/13, I appeared on the Daniel Ott Radio Show. I discussed the history of my reptilian abductions, along with the experiences of the others involved in my mass abduction in 2005. I also spoke about several other cases, and their parallels to my own encounters.

In the last 10 mins of the show, the host cracked a joke about killing reptilians. What can only be described as an inhuman growl jumped into our conversation immediately after. Apparently, whatever reptilian was on the line wanted to voice their displeasure with his joke. During this conversation, I was sitting inside a parked car with the engine off. I was talking on my Skype app, over my phone's 4G connection. There was no other radio or computer anywhere near me. I can't think of anything that could have produced a growling noise that vivid. That certainly didn't sound like line interference. There are no audio files or ring tones on my Samsung S3 that sound like that. There was a deep guttural quality to it, which made it similar to what I've heard from reptilians before. Mr Ott does not have a history of pranking people on his program. And, I know there is no possible explanation for generation of that noise on my end.

There is a direct link to the mp3 excerpt with the growl, which is just below an mp3 of the full show.

http://www.theedgeam.com/interviews/Matt_R_08.24.13.mp3

http://www.theedgeam.com/interviews/recaps/GROWL.mp3

This growl sounds quite similar to some of the ones heard on the recordings made during the reptilian encounters at David Eckhart household http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjIDrMZfPPY & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNPMxkM0pF4. They too have that deep, gurgling, and emotive quality to them. The last time I spoke to David, he related an interesting anecdote about reptilians and telephones. This was during a fully conscious encounter, where a couple of reptilians surrounded him while he was working on some business paperwork at a desk in his home. A reptilian examined his new smartphone and said something to the effect of “You know we can break into this one too, right?”. Apparently, they thought he had replaced phones to try and circumvent their hacking attempts. The truth was, he had just decided to upgrade to a new phone. Mr. Eckhart also once saw a female reptilian quickly disassemble, and reassemble their home phone handset. During the process, she inserted a small device in the phone. The speed and skill with which she did so suggests she was experienced with tapping. I have had numerous phone hacking incidents, as I have discussed in previous articles on this site http://naturalplane.blogspot.com/2012/02/update-abductee-exposes-reptilian.html //www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2012/11/the-katrina-abductions-new-revelations.html.

Being something of a feudalistic warrior culture, the reptilians have an acute sensitivity to perceived insults and threats. As many reptilian abductees have discovered, they can disproportionately react when verbally antagonized. This is is particularly true if the origin of the threatening gesture or statement is a male human. The best policy for interacting with reptilians is to use the same practice you would use speaking to a known 1% biker club member, who is wearing his logo. You have virtually no margin of safety to disrespect them. Now, this does not seem to apply to reptilians acting in a scientist or doctor role. They do not tend to overreact to perceived insults. However, the majority of encountered reptilians fall into some spectrum of what would be called a "warrior culture". That outburst on the line certainly sounded emotionally driven. It occurred less than one second after Daniel Ott's joke. This exemplifies how quickly reptilians are able to mentally process, and involuntarily react to a threat. The reptilians have a fundamentally different neurological composition, which lets them react faster than a human would. I cover this in a previous article : //www.phantomsandmonsters.com/2013/03/here-be-dragons-new-katrina-abductions.html

Lake Champlain UFO / USO Abduction - Buff Ledge Summer Camp, VT

This particular case seems, at least to me, to lack the credibility needed to rank it among other better known abduction incidents. There was only one book written about the case, and it was authored by the chief investigator (who was a protege of J. Allen Hynek). Anyway...read the information that follows (as well as the links) and let me know your opinion:

On August 7, 1969, an abduction event took place at Buff Ledge summer camp for girls on the shores of Lake Champlain north of Burlington in Vermont. The case was investigated by Walter N. Webb, who spent 32 years at the Charles Hayden Planetarium in Boston as senior lecturer, assistant director, and manager of operations. Mr. Webb, who has had a lifelong interest in UFOs and who worked with J. Allen Hynek, wrote a book about his investigation called Encounter at Buff Ledge: A Ufo Case History

Two teenage camp employees, a sixteen year old boy named Michael Lapp, and a nineteen year old girl named Janet Cornell, were sitting on a boat dock late in the afternoon. The camp was mostly deserted because most everyone was gone into Burlington for a swim meet. As the sun dropped and the sky darkened, a bright light suddenly appeared. Michael said that he at first thought it was Venus. (Note: It couldn't have been Venus. Venus was a morning star on that date, rising at about 2:00 am on the Eastern horizon, not visible in the late afternoon over Lake Champlain)

As the object drew closer, the shape became more clear-it was a saucer shape. Suddenly, Michael remarked, "Wow! Venus is falling." But he knew better. The lone light now dropped three smaller lights from it and they immediately soared over the lake. The larger object soon disappeared from sight. It was obvious the objects were being intelligently controlled. The UFOs seemed to perform for the two mesmerized teenagers, doing zigzags, loops, and then would suddenly drop like a falling leaf.

Now, the three UFOs moved ever closer to the two friends. The UFOs formed a triangle formation, and then two of them pulled away, leaving just one out front. Later, Michael would recall hearing something that sounded like "a thousand tuning forks" as the two objects pulled back. The last UFO then passed right over them, shot upward and briefly disappeared. Soon, it would reappear, tilted to one side, then drop straight into the lake.

After a time, it would emerge from the lake, and then begin moving directly toward Michael and Janet. The UFO was so close now that two beings could be seen through the transparent cupola of the object. The beings appeared child-like. According to Michael, their necks were elongated, they had big heads for their body size. They had no hair, but large eyes which wrapped around the side of their heads. He thought that he was in mental contact with the beings.

For some odd reason, as Michael watched the aliens, he slapped his knee. One alien did likewise. The UFO was now directly over their heads, as it shot a beam at the two. Michael grabbed Janet's shoulder and pulled back, landing both of them on the deck on their backs. He then was terrified of being taken, and screamed, "We don't want to go!" The next thing Michael recalled was sitting on the dock and gazing at the object, which was now farther away from them. Janet seemed to just sit in a trance. It was now totally dark.

Soon, they heard members of the swim team talking as they made their way back into the camp. The UFO moved higher up into the sky. It flashed its lights a number of times, and then disappeared. Michael wondered, "How long have we been here?" Nothing would be said about what happened that late afternoon. When summer camp ended, the two went their separate ways. Michael rarely thought about his experience for the next five years, but as time went by, he began to have disturbing dreams.

Ten years after Michael's experience, he decided to contact the Center for UFO Studies. He was referred to investigator Walter Webb. After becoming familiar with the details of the case, Webb suggested regressive hypnosis to relieve Michael's nightmares, and hopefully regain his lost memories. The sessions brought back the events of the late afternoon experience at Buff Ledge. But now, he recalled being lifted by a beam into the waiting UFO, and going into a larger UFO. He also remembered Janet lying on an examination table.

The beings shone a light into her eyes, took skin samples, and fluids from her body. "The aliens all looked alike, Michael recalled, and had those large eyes, a mouth without lips, no ears, and two small openings for a nose." Michael also described the beings as having three pointed, web-like digits for fingers, and their bodies felt "damp and clammy." Michael recalls the aliens wanted life on our planet to be like theirs, without violence.

Janet, now 29, would also be regressed. Her recalled memories would only strengthen the case of alien abduction. She recalled the "coldness" of the table. Something had pulled her hair, and pinched her neck. There was no disharmony in Michael and Janet's statements.

Webb also conducted an investigation outside the boundaries of regressive hypnosis. He was able to find other members of Buff Ledge that had witnessed strange lights over Lake Champlain on the same night as Michael and Janet's abduction. Two other members of the camp also claimed to have been abducted after seeing strange lights, but earlier in the summer. Their names were not released. The events at Buff Ledge camp are certainly proof of an alien abduction.

Evaluation - Walter N. Webb

Michael and Janet were given a thorough evaluation which included MMP| (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) tests, PSE (Psychological Stress Evaluator) exams, and background character checks.

Each MMPI score was analyzed by a local psychologist and R. Leo Sprinkle (University of Wyoming). Basically, Janet's profile appeared normal and free of sociopathy. Michael's scoreindicated normalcy except for a possible intellectual rebellion toward traditional ideas and parental/societal rules, echoing his creative life style.

The PSE tests were evaluated by a certified stress analyst, Ernest Reid (the PSE expert in the Andreasson case). While both subjects were shown to have observed a UFO, the close encounter/abduction scenario proved inconclusive. In Michael's case, the analyst concluded that the subject's test was administered incorrectly by another party. Although Reid later administered Janet's test himself, he left unexplored the abduction segment due to its having been uncovered through hypnosis.

The two personalities comprised a study in contrasts. When I last saw Michael six years ago, I characterized him then as bright, idealistic, having psychic and mystical interests, leading a creative and artistic lifestyle, and lacking in strong motivation. His life and interests appeared to have changed drastically following the UFO experience (Some of these changes, however, were undoubtedly due to an unhappy home life and to normal teen-to-adult maturation.) Unable to apply himself at college, he dropped out of schools three times, worked at odd jobs across the country, and finally returned to college where in 1978 he succeeded in graduating with a B.A. in religion. When I last contacted him some years ago, he was pursuing a modeling and acting career.

Janet, on the other hand, followed a straight and narrow path to her present station in life as a wife and mother. She appeared equally bright, well-adjusted, confident, outgoing, highly motivated, and leading a conventional lifestyle. An excellent student, she graduated from college with honors in 1971 with a B.A. in psychology. After holding several responsible administrative positions at an ivy league college, Janet married a physician in 1978 and now cares for her four children, ages 11, 8, and 5 (twins). Unlike the male witness's continued obsession with the UFO experience, Janet has become preoccupied with family life and prefers to forget the encounter.

It was established to my satisfaction that both witnesses were honest, credible individuals who did not perpetrate a hoax (indeed, they had no opportunity for collusion) nor suffer some sort of shared hallucination or delusion.

The probability is high, in my judgment, that Michael and Janet experienced a real external event of unknown origin.

Early Newspapers Chronicle Ghostly Accounts

The following articles are old newpaper accounts of paranormal activity. The manner in which these reports are presented is fascinating...full of emotion, flourishes and hyperbole:

Ghost Allegedly Slaps Cops’ Faces

One Hundred Dollars Reward For Proof Happenings Are Not Supernatural

New Castle News, New Castle, Pennsylvania - 18 February 1922

HALIFAX, N.S., Feb. 18 – The famous ghost of Antigonish county today had won the second round of its fight with Agnostics and entered upon its third.

First, it drove Alex McDonald from his farm in Caledonia Mills in midwinter, with a tale of mysterious fires and cattle that apparently had been stricken by a supernatural hand.

Last night it sent Detective “Peachie” McDonald of the provincial police and Harold Whidden, a reporter, back to Halifax, satisfied by their investigation that the ghost exists and had slapped them.

Today the cross hockey club, of Antigonish, which is here for a game with Dalhousie, announced that two of its members had been selected to wage war against the spook by continuing the investigation of the haunted house, which has had all Nova Scotia agog.

So certain is Mr. Whidden of his conclusions, he offered to give $100 to the first person who can prove that supernatural causes are not responsible for the uncanny happenings at the McDonald homestead.

Bizarre Apparition Entertains the Masses

Stalks in an Auburn Oat Field - Draws Crowds to Scene

All Attempts to Capture the Spectre Unsuccessful

Mysterious Figure Swings a Lantern Like a Brakeman and Boldly Confronts Spectators, But Vanishes If Approached

Syracuse, New York, Sunday Herald - 1 August 1897

Auburn, July 31 - One evening nearly a week ago the young son of Michael O'Hara put his head out of the window of his father's house in lower State street and allowed his eyes to wander across the street into the field of waving grain owned by ex-Mayor Mortimer V. Austin. Suddenly O'Hara gave a blood-curdling yell, and his face blanched as he saw rising from the center of the oat field a strange apparition. It was apparently the figure of a man clothed entirely in white. The ghostly figure stalked across the oat field, swinging a lantern in its hand. It advanced to the fence facing the road, and after flourishing his lantern up and down several times like a brakeman signaling a railroad train, the white figure gave a tremendous bound into the air and vanished from sight.

The youth managed to gain strength enough to crawl back into bed. The next morning he told the story of the specter to his parents, who in turn told it to the neighbors, and the neighbors gave it to the local newspapers, and the news was heralded far and wide. The next evening 500 or more people congregated in the highway in front of the O'Hara residence and waited for the apparition to appear. The board fence in front of the oat field was lined with spectators.

About 10 o'clock the ghost appeared, carrying his lantern with him. The specter made its appearance, apparently rising from the ground at the foot of a beech tree which stands at the west end of the field. The white-robed figure dodged in and out, seen at one minute, the next lost to sight. After continuing this performance for a few minutes, the figure advanced boldly toward the astounded spectators.

It came on with a bounding movement, similar to that made by a kangaroo while in motion. When within a few feet of the spectators, the ghost stood motionless for a second, and after waving the lantern in the air three or four times, suddenly vanished from sight. This is the way a young man of unquestioned veracity tells it.

An Attempt to Capture

The next night an attempt was made to capture his ghostship. Thirteen (an unlucky number) of Auburn's bravest young men took up their position among the branches of the beech tree, from under which the ghost appears. The young sentinels were not afraid of ghosts. Oh, no! and they chuckled to themselves, thinking of what fun they would have in the capture.

About 300 or 400 people stood in the street. The ghost appeared about 10 o'clock. It arose as usual from the ground at the foot of the beech tree. Its appearance caused an unusual commotion among the brave young men in the tree. One of the would-be captors fainted, while his companions clutched more tightly the branches of the tree and with awe-stricken faces waited for the thing to pass on. His ghostship did not carry his lantern on this occasion.

The following night another and more determined party of men attempted to capture the ghostly visitant. They chased it around the oat field, but could not capture it. Just as one of the pursuers would attempt to place a hand upon the spectre it would suddenly vanish, only to reappear again a second later in a distant part of the field.

It is a motley crowd which gathers nightly to catch a glimpse of his ghostship. Some times it appears and then again it doesn't. It is a very uncertain ghost to gamble on. Old, gray-haired men, as well as barefooted, rosy-cheeked children, gather in front of the oat field and keep nightly vigils, waiting for the apparition to appear. Young men and their sweethearts make the scene a trysting place, and they come on foot and on bicycles to wait and watch. Parents even bring their children out to see the ghost. The fences on both sides of the street have been torn down by the mob, and the oat field is stamped down, as if a herd of Western steers had passed over it. It has been roughly estimated that fully 4,000 people have visited the field during the week.

The scene where the alleged ghost appears is inside the city limits, yet the authorities have taken no action in regard to the matter. Chief of Police MacMaster is waiting for the property owners of that section to enter complaint. There are no city ordinances which prohibit orderly and respectable ghosts from taking up their abode in an oat field or anywhere else.

No Ordinance Against Ghosts

In fact the framers of the city's by-laws neglected to enact ordinances under which a ghost could be apprehended and punished for his temerity in stalking abroad at night with a lantern in its hand. There are many theories as to the identity of the ghostly phenomenon. Some claim that it is the spirit of a restless bicycle rider who was electrocuted during the dark ages for not having his lamp lighted after sundown. That during the revival of the bicycle craze in modern times he is doomed for a certain number of nights to appear with his lantern as a warning to those wicked riders who will persist in letting their lamps blow out on dark and stormy nights. Some say that it is the spirit of a man who was murdered in the oat field many years ago. The criminal records of the county fail to show when the alleged murder was committed, or who was the victim, consequently that story will not hold.

A man named Murphy, residing in State street in the vicinity of the haunted field, says that the specter is the Murphy family's cat. Thomas is a beautiful white feline, who occasionally rambles away from home to meet his enamorita in the haunted field.

The theory, however, is not credited by those who have seen the specter, which has been described to be from six to ten feet tall. As Murphy's cat never was, or never will be, ten feet in height the probabilities are that Thomas is not the guilty party.

The O'Haras don't know who or what it is, and what's more, don't like to talk about the matter for publication. One of the neighbors said that the specter is a young girl who resides in York street. The young girl in question indignantly denies the accusation and says that if she ever catches her accuser face to face she will scratch his eyes out. This at once establishes her innocence. Officer Titus, who patrols the State street beat, says that the ghost is a man with a white sheet over his head. Officer Titus started out to investigate the matter a few days ago and to find out if possible who the joker might be. In less than forty-eight hours he was told by as many as fifty of the residents who the guilty party was. Strange to say, every one of the fifty informers were in turn accused by each other of the heinous offense and here the matter rests.

The specter appeared again about 11:15 o'clock to-night and nearly frightened the wits out of a large number of spectators by its grotesque actions. The figure apparently dropped from the clouds into the midst of a crowd of young men, who were seated under the beech tree smoking cigarettes. The smokers dropped their cigarettes and with a screech fled from the field with the strange apparition in hot pursuit. The phantom chased the men into the middle of the street, and then, with a peculiar bounding gait, returned to the field and then vanished from sight.

Jersey Town Sees Ghost

Weird Apparition Keeps Nervous Residents Home at Night

The Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis, Indiana - 19 March 1911

BEVERLY, N.J. March 18 – Bridgeboro, the home of witchlore and ghost scares, had another sensation, which the residents take seriously, and after each nightfall the streets are deserted. Joe Johnson and a party of friends, passing what is known as the Paxson Pits a few nights ago, were confronted by a dwarf which they declared climbed out of a pit. For a minute it lingered and then, giving a piercing screech, vanished into the woods. Other witnesses, farmers of unquestionable veracity, substantiate Johnson’s story.

The old residents say that years ago a reserved man, who lived on the outskirts of the village, and whose name never was learned, as the family would not mingle with the villagers, had a deformed son. The man was driving along the country road, when the carriage was supposed to have overturned and the child fell into the pit and broke his neck. The version of the accident was accepted, but wild rumors were afloat at the time. Those who have seen the specter describe it as a boy whose head seems to hang limp upon his chest.

Choked By A Ghost

Pennsylvania Woman Believes Her Dead Husband Visits Her

Logansport Pharos, Logansport, Indiana - 19 March 1901

Carbondale, Pa. March 19 - The ghost of John Kinnie has visited his wife’s bedroom twice within a week, and she fears it may be the cause of her death. Each time the phantom visitor choked her, and her neck is said to have black and blue marks caused by long thin fingers. Kinnie died a year ago.

Just as the clock tolled midnight last Monday, Mrs. Kinnie says, she heard the front door open. Then there were footsteps in the hall. She hastily locked her bedroom door and listened in fright. A few minutes later her neck was encircled by a hand. She swooned, and when morning came was found on the floor in a dead faint. The same thing happened Wednesday night. The only explanation the doctor can offer is that Mrs. Kennie choked herself while sleeping. She is in a serious condition.

Abandoned Clark Air Base hospital haunted

The abandoned — and allegedly haunted — Clark Air Base hospital in Pampanga will be featured in an episode of National Geographic’s upcoming TV-documentary show “I Wouldn’t Go In There.”

“I Wouldn’t Go In There,” hosted by urban explorer-blogger Robert Joe, is a 10-episode series that will put the spotlight on 10 of the most reportedly haunted sites in Asia and shed light on the history and superstition that possibly gave the places its eerie reputation.

"The Clark Air Base hospital, which served as the air base from early 1900s until 1991 and is now currently abandoned, was cited by Ghost Hunters International as one of the most haunted places in the world,” said Fox International Channel’s Philippine head Jude Turcuato. This, of course, merited the location to be featured in the National Geographic TV series.

“We chose this particular place because this has the most number of supporting details and testimonials proving it is truly haunted,” Turcuato said.

Other places to be featured in “I Wouldn’t Go In There” include the Kadena Air Base in Japan and the Jingmei Detention Center in Taiwan.

But the series won’t be an all-out scare fest ala the Halloween specials of ABS-CBN’s “Magandang Gabi Bayan” during the 90s. Rather than highlight the reported supernatural sightings in the featured locations, the show focuses on the places’ history to explain why the locals consider them haunted, Turcuato explained.

Members of the entertainment press experienced the “haunted” Clark Air Base in Pampanga firsthand during an advance screening of the Philippine episode of “I Wouldn’t Go In There” on Friday, August 13.

Oklahoma USO / Nordic Aliens CE-3

August 24, 2013 - Edmond, Oklahoma, night: This past weekend I was spending some time out by Lake Arcadia. The fraternity that I am a member of (which is part of a near by University) just finished having our back to school get together with some of our members. The location of the site was right by the shore of the lake.

It was about one oclock in the morning and I was the last one there and had been by myself for around thirty minutes. It was my responsibility that night to let no one drive back home while intoxicated and make sure the camp site was in good shape when we were done. As a result of my duties that night I was completely sober and had not been drinking or using any drugs.

Right after I loaded the last bag of trash in the back of my truck I had this strange urge to look at the lake. The best way to describe that feeling was as if I had been day dreaming. There was nothing unusual going on out on then all of the sudden there was a bright glowing light under the water. At this particular distance I could tell exactly how large the circle was but it was big.

The shape was circular and had a light green/yellowish glow with occasional pulsating reed and blue lights. I starred at it dumbfounded as it was moving slowly under the water from one side of the lake to the opposite side. The object moved from one side and back to the other two or three times for about five minutes then it stopped almost near the center of the lake. The object glowed brighter and brighter than shot straight out of the water and into the sky.

After that I turned around and ran as fast as I could to my truck. Once I got to my truck I stopped and fumbled around in my pockets for a couple of seconds looking for my keys and seemingly out of no where a bright light appeared above and slightly behind me.

I turned around to see what was behind me and there was was this giant ship. It wasnt a saucer shaped one that everyone talks about but it had more of a cake shape. It hadn't landed but just hovered around twenty to thirty feet off the ground for a couple of seconds. Then shot back up into the sky.

I turned back to my truck door and tried to unlock it when I caught something at the corner of my eye. I jumped back against the side of my truck and about 15 feet away stood three people staring at me that had not been there prior to this incident. There were two very attractive woman and one very tall man that was at least ten feet high. All of them had blonde hair that was almost white and blue eyes.

They did not say anything to me directly but I heard one of the the woman's voice in my head. I know your probably thinking that I am crazy but it did happen. She said, "(my name) please do not be afraid. You have an important role to play if you would like to help us." I said out loud in a shaky voice "okay but I dont know how?" Then the woman said, "dont worry you will know in time." Right after she said that everything went black.

Eventually I woke up around two thirty. Laying about thirty feet away from my last remembered position at the side of my truck. - MUFON CMS

Haunted Bromley: Ghosts in Chislehurst Caves

Chislehurst Caves, on Old Hill, has long been rumoured to be haunted by a selection of ghosts, writes Neil Arnold in Haunted Bromley

These range from a woman drowned many years ago in a pool situated deep in the tunnels, to a cavalier, a horse, a woman pushing a pram, a Druid, a spectral imp, and a black dog.

Most of these ghostly tales are unfounded, despite the history of these passageways, which run some twenty or so miles beneath the ground.

More than 15,000 people were stationed in these caves during the Blitz and yet no-one died there, but just like the ghosts of Pluckley, near Ashford, these alleged spooks have become embedded into the fabric of the place and make for perfect stories by the glow of a lantern.

A few decades ago people attempted the Chislehurst Challenge and agreed to spend the night in the pitch black caves, and yet only one man made it through the night, a police officer who claimed that he was in the presence of some unseen entity.

The village of Chislehurst should have ghosts when one considers its Anglo-Saxon origins, and it's no surprise that there are a few haunted pubs dotted about.

The Queens Head in the High Street doesn't look haunted because it has modern furnishings but legend states that many years ago a former customer drowned in the pond nearby when he was turned away by the new landlord at the time for not paying for his drinks.

The Bickley, situated close to the Caves, has long been thought to have been haunted by a woman in white.

In the early '80s the local newspapers had a field day with the rumoured apparition, which according to one report was said to have been the same woman known to haunt the Caves.

The spectre was held responsible for the cold spots within the property and the shadowy figures seen at the corner of the eye.

Room No 2 was said to have been the most haunted part of the pub, which now serves as a restaurant.

But the pub isn't ass haunted as Scadbury Manor, once home to the Walsingham family.

The sound of horses hooves have been heard clattering on a road which no longer exists but despite several ghostly investigations taking place in the grounds, no spirits have reared their misty heads. - This Is Local London
