Just the Facts?: Bantam Lake UFO Story Continues -- Massive Great White Shark -- Exploding Frozen Cows
Week 2 in Bantam Lake UFO (or meteorite): reports of dead fish unrelated, 'Smoking Gun' investigating
Dead fish in the water, plans by a “Smoking Gun” group to investigate and questions about the dangers, or not, of meteorites—it’s week two in what is thought of as the Bantam Lake UFO story.
After news broke toward the end of last week that both an unidentified person and an on-duty trooper 10 miles away had seen a glowing green object fall from the sky around 2 a.m. April 9, subsequent reporting revealed that it was most likely a meteorite.
Whatever happened, reports of the incident leaving dead fish in its wake are not true, The Smoking Gun Research Agency (SGRA) of Orange, Conn., is investigating, and a meteorite in the lake is said to pose no threat to anything or anyone.
Bantam Lake Protective Association president Connie Trolle said Monday that she hadn’t heard anything about dead fish at the lake. As for the working theory that a documented meteor shower in the area resulted in a meteorite falling into the lake, she said, “The people that are involved that will check. It could be many different things.” Continue reading at Week 2 in Bantam Lake UFO (or meteorite): reports of dead fish unrelated, 'Smoking Gun' investigating

Black Military Helicopters Conduct Covert Exercises Over Chicago
In a repeat of events in LA three months ago, black military helicopters buzzed skyscrapers and high rise buildings in downtown Chicago Monday night, in what has been described as an urban training exercise.
Witnesses reported at least three Blackhawk helicopters flying in close formation, then separately, around offices and residential buildings for several hours.
Several smaller A/MH-6 Little Bird helicopters were also seen circling close to the Chicago River. The choppers are often used by military special forces.
Witnesses described seeing three or four military personnel hanging out of each of the helicopters brandishing automatic weapons.
The following stunning videos show just how close the choppers came to the buildings, literally rattling windows as they flew past:

As we reported in January, the exact same scenario was played out in Los Angeles for a full week, with huge Black Hawk helicopters seen hovering over the US bank building and The Staples Center, along with four of the smaller OH-6 choppers.
A statement issued at the time by the LAPD, announced that the covert exercises were “designed to ensure the military’s ability to operate in urban environments, prepare forces for upcoming overseas deployments, and meet mandatory training certification requirements.”
The exercises are part of a spate of recent military drills to hit heavily populated areas throughout the country.
Back in April last year, residents of Brickell, Miami witnessed at least three large Black Hawk-like helicopters conducting military exercises over their heads. Some initially believed it was a movie shoot.
Further exercises of the same nature were reported in Boston in August. - infowars

Exploding Toilet at GSA
There was a lot of potty talk by government workers after toilets exploded in a federal building last year, sending one woman to the hospital.
"I am scared to pee," was the subject of an email sent by one employee in the General Services Administration, according to a probe of the infamous john incident by MuckRock.
There was reason to worry. "DO NOT flush toilets or use any domestic water," stated an internal GSA memo leaked to media after flying porcelain fragments injured two workers in the September blowup in Washington, D.C.
Decrepit pipes filled with air, causing the plumbing explosion, according to other emails cited by MuckRock.
Water cooler conversation was dominated by the bathroom blast. "Check out this story about my building," gushed an employee in another email. "Who was this???," wondered a worker about the unlucky lady who got hurt, MuckRock said. - THP

Massive great white shark caught in Sea of Cortez
A great white shark measuring nearly 20 feet and weighing 2,000 pounds -- according to a local report -- was hauled up Sunday by commercial fishermen in the Sea of Cortez near Guaymas.
The massive predator was dead when it was brought to the surface in a net deployed by fishermen named Guadalupe and Baltazar, who were treated to the surprise of a lifetime when they saw what they had captured.
"We were amazed and immediately realized that we had a huge, dead, great white shark, and then we thought what are we going to do?," Guadalupe told Pisces Sportfishing, which is located in the resort city of Cabo San Lucas.
There is some dispute about the size If, in fact, it measured six meters (19.8 feet), as Milenio News reported, it'd be one of the longest white sharks ever recorded.
The fishermen, who were aboard a 22-foot skiff, towed the behemoth two miles to the beach, where dozens of people helped drag it onto dry sand.
"Guadalupe and Baltazar swore they had never seen a fish this big before in their lives," the Pisces blog stated. "Even though on March 13 of this year, some of their fellow fishermen had also caught a great white, which had weighed 990 pounds."
Adult white sharks were once believed to be rare in the Sea of Cortez, or Gulf of California, but scientists now believe parts of the gulf serve as a nursery for the species. - petethomasoutdoors

Frozen Colorado cows may be blown up
A group of stray cows that froze to death in the Colorado mountains must be blown up or set on fire to avoid water contamination, forestry officials say.
The carcasses were discovered near the Conundrum Hot Springs in Aspen by two Air Force Academy cadets in late March.
The cows were found in a ranger cabin where it is thought they wandered during a snowstorm after they were separated from the herd last year.
The plan is to remove the dead animals before they begin to thaw.
US Forest Service spokesman Steve Segin told the BBC: "Obviously, time is of the essence because we don't want them defrosting."
He told the BBC that "negative interactions" with other wildlife were also a concern.
They need to use the minimal tool to get the job done”
Winter temperatures in the area regularly drop to below 0F (-18C).
The hot springs are inside a federal wilderness area high in the Rocky Mountains, which prevents mechanical options, like chainsaws, from being used.
The options include letting the cows decompose and closing off the area, setting off explosives to break up the animals and speed up the decomposition process, or setting the cabin on fire.
Officials say there are about six cows inside the cabin and several just outside.
Michael Carroll, a spokesman for the Wilderness Society in Colorado, told the Associated Press: "They need to use the minimal tool to get the job done.
"They don't want to leave the land scarred."
According to Mr Segin, the cows' owner has been found through the tags on the animals.
Cows and other animals are allowed to graze on federal wilderness land if the owner has a permit. - BBC
