Just the Facts?: Herne Bay Pier Ghost Reappears -- Buried Spacecraft? -- Wooley Mammoth Clone

The Ghost of Herne Bay Pier Makes Another Dramatic Appearance

Ghost stories abound around the old Herne Bay Pier near Kent, England, ever since a violent storm isolated the pier head out at sea in 1979. Since then, many reports of a ghostly figure shuffling back and forth have chilled the spine. Now, a new video offers up some real proof to back up the tale.

In the video below, on a suitably misty day, the pier head is filmed from a car parked on shore. Among the shapes outlined against the sky is one in the middle of the pier, indistinguishable from the rest.

Until it starts moving.

As the YouTuber notes, the pier head is cut off from land, with its own navigational light to warn off marine traffic. There is no boat tied up to the sidings, the pier is cordoned off from the public as a hazard and there's no way on or off without help. So who's walking along the pier?

This particular spot has been the subject of numerous ghost sightings for decades. The most compelling evidence has been a recent still photo showing something looking like a person by the boat house. This is the first video to show a figure walking the planks of the destroyed wharf. - Gather - Tom Rose

Strange Quadrangle UFO Spooks Virginia Beach

A weird, quadrangle-shaped UFO, of an unusual green color, hovered over Virginia Beach on Tuesday, spooking at least one guy who was just trying to throw out his trash in peace.

Walking outside his home, he noticed dogs barking excitedly and wondered what all the commotion was about as a neighbor mentioned strange noises. Then he looked up in the sky and caught a glimpse of this unusually shaped unidentified flying object hovering over the rooftops in his quiet neighborhood.

Fortunately he was able to grab his camera phone and took about 20 seconds of the footage shown.

This UFO is unique because of its quadrangle shape and colors. It appears to be grayish at the edges and an aquamarine green at its center. It doesn't look very aerodynamic, but it hovers silently before dipping past a rooftop and out of sight. What is it?

Buried Spacecraft? Metallic Object Found in Hole in Austria

An Austrian farmer looking for his lost cat stumbled upon a hole that he thinks might contain the greatest UFO find of all time.

Franz Knoglinger, 47, found the 25-foot-deep, perfectly round hole in northwestern Austrian field while searching for his misplaced kitty Sunday night. He pulled out every investigative trick in the book to learn what was at the bottom.

Throw a rock down the hole? Check.

"I was looking for our family cat Murlimann when I noticed the hole -- I didn't know how deep it was then so I dropped the stone down there, and heard a metallic clunk," he told the Austrian Times.

Big ol' magnet? Check.

"I managed to get a big magnet which I dangled down there and it clearly fastened onto something at the bottom –- so there is something large and metallic about down there," he said. "It also sounds as if there is a hollow space around about whatever the metal object is. It sounds as if there is a room underneath."

He even called a local plumber, who lowered a camera down the pit on a rope -- but the camera failed just as it reached the object. Knoglinger said that the interference may have been caused by "some sort of electrical field."

Regardless, the speculations are already flying -- more than 500 people visited the site within the first day, the Salzburger Nachrichten reported (via Google Translate). Archaeologists told the paper that the hole could have been formed when wooden timber from an underground burial chamber rotted away.

But that doesn't explain the metallic object, which locals think could be a malfunctioned bomb from the war, the "Doorway to Hell" -- as one resident pointed out with a sandwich board -- or even a buried spacecraft, Knoglinger told the Austrian Times.

Geologists are expected to visit the site and perform tests before a possible excavation, the paper reported. - THP

New series of earthquakes rattle Japan

A series of earthquakes rattled Tokyo and northeast Japan late Wednesday evening but caused no apparent damage or injury in the same region hit by last year's devastating tsunami.

The strongest tremor, off Hokkaido island, was 6.8 magnitude and caused tidal changes that prompted some communities to issue evacuation orders or tsunami advisories to residents nearest the coast.

A swelling of 20 centimeters (8 inches) was observed in the port of Hachinohe in Aomori, northern Japan, about one hour after the tremor. Smaller changes were reported in several locations on Hokkaido island and Aomori prefecture.

The Japan Meteorological Agency lifted all tsunami advisories about an hour and half later.

Within about three hours, a magnitude-6.1 quake shook buildings in the capital. It was centered just off the coast of Chiba, east of Tokyo, at a rather shallow 15 kilometers (9 miles) below the sea surface.

Narita International Airport briefly closed runways for inspection but later resumed operation. Several local train services were suspended for safety checks.

There were no abnormalities reported at nuclear power plants after the two earthquakes, operators said. Nearly all of Japan's nuclear plants are offline for safety inspections.

The temblors were considered aftershocks of last year's massive quake, Meteorological Agency official Akira Nagai told a news conference, warning residents to stay away from buildings and plots already loosened by that tremor and the thousands of aftershocks that have followed.

The town of Otsuchi in Iwate prefecture, where more than 800 died in last year's tsunami, issued an evacuation order to coastal households as a precaution after the 6.8 quake, said prefecture disaster management official Shinichi Motoyama. No damage or injury was reported, he said.

Iwate was heavily damaged by last year's earthquake and tsunami. Thousands of aftershocks have shaken the region since then, nearly all of them of minor or moderate strength.

The magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami on March 11, 2011 left some 19,000 people dead or missing.

Japan marked the first anniversary of the disasters on Sunday, as the country still struggles to rebuild. - csmonitor

South Korean and Russian scientists bid to clone mammoth

The deal was signed by Vasily Vasiliev, vice rector of North-Eastern Federal University of the Sakha Republic, and controversial cloning pioneer Hwang Woo-Suk of South Korea's Sooam Biotech Research Foundation.

Hwang was a national hero until some of his research into creating human stem cells was found in 2006 to have been faked. But his work in creating Snuppy, the world's first cloned dog, in 2005, has been verified by experts.

Stem cell scientists are now setting their sights on the extinct woolly mammoth, after global warming thawed Siberia's permafrost and uncovered remains of the animal.

Sooam said it would launch research this year if the Russian university can ship the remains. The Beijing Genomics Institute will also take part in the project.

The South Korean foundation said it would transfer technology to the Russian university, which has already been involved in joint research with Japanese scientists to bring a mammoth back to life.

"The first and hardest mission is to restore mammoth cells," another Sooam researcher, Hwang In-Sung, told AFP. His colleagues would join Russian scientists in trying to find well-preserved tissue with an undamaged gene.

By replacing the nuclei of egg cells from an elephant with those taken from the mammoth's somatic cells, embryos with mammoth DNA could be produced and planted into elephant wombs for delivery, he said.

Sooam will use an Indian elephant for its somatic cell nucleus transfer. The somatic cells are body cells, such as those of internal organs, skin, bones and blood.

"This will be a really tough job, but we believe it is possible because our institute is good at cloning animals," Hwang In-Sung said.

South Korean experts have previously cloned animals including a cow, a cat, dogs, a pig and a wolf.

Last October Hwang Woo-Suk unveiled eight cloned coyotes in a project sponsored by a provincial government. - telegraph

Chemtrail Orb Video

Rick Phillips at UFO Disclosure Countdown Clock posts: Are you ready to be blown away today by some incredible footage captured from an airplane seat? That `happened' to someone who was transformed last year in their mindset? That (assuming no fakery) could be the best video ever of the Chemtrails/Contrails - fake plane - Orb (controlled/monitored) phenomena? (IMO of course.) Is this phenomena largely an alien disclosure?
